Etwall & District Flying Club Presentation Evening.
Etwall & District Flying Club recently held their annual prize presentation evening at the Royal British Legion Club in Repton. Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was club president Jim Summers.
First up having an outstanding season, and top prize winner for 2022 season was Kevin Southall. Kevin is assisted by his wonderful partner Moira throughout the season as she does the training and other various tasks when required. Kevin won 11x1st's, 9x2nd's, 14x3rd's & 10x4th's winning Old bird inland average cup, Inland average cup, Young bird average cup, Old bird average cup, Combine average cup, Mr & Mrs A Houldsworth cup, Reuben Hough cup, G. Williamson cup, J Childs nominated shield, G Childs nominated shield & Gold horseshoe trophy. Winning £232.00 prize money, £176 specials, £162.62 pool money & £182.00 breeder buyer money making total winnings of £753.27.

Next up was hard working secretary Alan Peach who flies as A.Peach & Son winning Mr & Mrs A Houldsworth cup, A & C Perry cup, P. Bevan Shield & Silver horseshoe trophy with winnings of 7x1st's, 6x2nd's, 4x3rd's & 5x4th’s winning £117.60 prize money, £56.91 specials, £89.91 pools, £4.00 loft pool, £2.00 nomination & £84.00 breeder buyer making a total payout of £356.42.

Next came P & S Harrison ( Peter & Shirley ) winning E. Foulke cup, J. Foulke shield with 2x1st's, 2x2nd's, 1x3rd & 3x4th's winning £48 prize money, £54.36 Specials, £61.31 pool money & £17.00 loft pool making a total of £180.67.
It was the turn of Steve Billings next winning Ladies Race cup and winnings of £30.40 prize money, £2.58 specials & £8.60 pool money making a total of £41.58.
Mick Leszczyszak came next winning 2x2nd's, 1x4th winning £25.60 prize money & £2.58 specials making a total of £28.18.

Next came their youngest & newest member Dylan Scott winning 1x1st this being his first ever race ( WELL DONE DYLAN ) and 1x3rd with prize money of £12.00 plus £2.00 specials making a total of £14.00. Let’s hope you go on to win many more.

Paul Burton came next winning £8.80 prize money, £2.58 specials making a total of £11.38.
Neil Crofts came next winning £8.00 prize money & £2.58 specials totalling £10.58.
Finally, it was J & J Loft winning 80p.

Club person of the year shield went to Paul Burton.
The total payout for the 2022 season was £1376.88 and for a small club this is an excellent effort by all members who make this club the successful club that it is.
After the payout there was a raffle which raised £112 then an excellent buffet which was enjoyed by all.
The members would like to thank Alan Peach, club secretary for all his hard work over the season ensuring the smooth running of the club also all the other members for all their efforts on marking night's i.e. basketing the birds, loading of the transporter, offloading the empties and the cleaning of the crates before they are put away for the following week.
