Etwall & District Flying Club Presentation


Etwall & District Flying Club held its annual presentation evening at the Repton Royal British Legion Club on Saturday December 12th.Presenting the prizes and guests of honour was Peter & Shlia Harrison.Club President Jim Summers gave a short speech before the proceedings started then it was down to business.

Top prize winners for the 2015 season was Mr & Mrs T Childs & Son.This being a wonderful achievement as Vena has been looking after the birds since the sad passing of John and with help of their son Jon have put up some excellent performances.Their points total for the season was 156 winning £127.92 prize money, £49.45 in specials making a total of £177.37 also the A Peach memorial cup and old bird inland average.

Next up was A.Peach & Son with 108 points winning £98.56 prize money,£93.97 specials,£5 old bird average,£5 combine average,£75.84 sale race,£179.87 pools £18.50 nomination making a total of £466.56 also winning R.Nicklin old bird average cup,Combine average cup,J Childs shield & Mr & Mrs Houldsworth 2 race average cup.

Next came Mr & Mrs Houldsworth with 88 points winning £72.16 prize money,£19.85 specials,£139.81 pool money,£16.50 noms £45.00 loft pool making a total of £293.32 plus G Childs shield.

Sam Phillips came next with 69 points winning £56.58 prize money,£52.66 specials,£87.75 pools,£7.00 noms making a total of £203.99 plus T Farrow Carentan shield,Norman Kellett memorial shield & 2 bird Carentan average.

Tony & June Whitehurst came next with 64 points winning £52.48 prize money plus £5.80 specials,£50.56 sale race,£31.40 pools.£2.50 loft pool,£6.50 noms making a total of £149.24.
Peter & Shelia Harrison were next with 52 points winning prize money of £42.64 plus £25.80 specials,£113.76 sale race,£5.00 over seas average,£33.41 pools making a total of £220.61.Also winning C Wain second special race cup,T Childs memorial cup & two bird average second special race.
Dave Williams were next with 49 points winning prize money of £40.18 plus £43.66 specials,£75.84 sale race,£129.42 pools,£9.50 noms,£28.50 loft pool making a total of £327.10.Also winning G Williamson young bird special race memorial cup.
Steve Billings came next with 41 points winning £33.62 prize money plus £9.96 specials making a total of £43.58

Willy Horton came next with 37 points winning £30.34 prize money plus 80p specials,£5.50 inland average,£5.00 young bird average,£72.81 pools making a total of £113.95.

Dennis Shaw came next with 14 points winning £11.48 prize money plus £1.66 specials making a total of £13.14

After the presentation was over Peter Harrison then presented every member present with the Etwall 2016 calendar which was kindly donated by Alan & Liz Houldsworth then it was time to get stuck into a wonderful buffett.Just like to give  special mentions to Sam Phillips raising £108 on the raffle plus £22 auctioning one of Venas two christmas cakes which were a credit to her.Also to Vena for the two wonderful christmas cakes, also the caterers for putting on such a excellent buffett, Alan Peach for all the hard work he has done over the season,Peter Harrison doing a excellent job presenting the prizes,basket cleaners,handlers,all the members who support the club and finally our club officials, Jim Summers,Alan Peach Paul Burton & Dave Williams.Congratulations to Dave & Debbie Williams on the arrival of their new grandson.
