Silver Ghost Flying Club Presentation 2015

 

 

 

Thursday 17th December and the Silver Ghost Flying Club held their annual prize distribution evening at their headquarters The Silver Ghost Public House in Alvaston.

Presenting the prizes was club secretary Jason Phillips.

 

First up to the table was Rueben Hough winning 12x1sts,13x2nds,15x3rds,9x4ths,9x5ths & 6x6ths making a total of 257 points also winning old bird inland average, old bird channel average, Combine average, Young Bird average, Member of the year, also winner of the yearling gold ring race also winning three show races making a total of £362.42.

Next up was club secretary Jason Phillips who fly as Mr & Mrs Jason Phillips winning 2x1sts,2x2nds,1x3rd,6x4ths,6x5ths & 5x6ths making a total of 61 points. Also winning Longest young bird trophy, Longest old bird trophy, Bird of the year and 1st in the young bird gold ring race with total winnings of £177.93.

Brian Dyjas came next winning 7x1sts, 6x2nds, 4x3rds,6x4ths, 2x5ths & 2x6ths making a total of 113 points and show race winnings of £57.

Ernie Barker came next winning 2x1sts,1x2nd, 3x3rds,1x4th, 2x5ths & 2x6ths making a total of 38 points.

 

Next came Woolley & Rogers winning 1x2nd, 1x4th,1x5th & 1x6th making a total of 11 points.

Mick Willis & Family came next winning 1x 3rd,1x4th & 2x6ths making a total of 11 points followed by Fred Stevenson winning 1x1st making a total of 6 points.

 

Alan Beastall came next winning 1x2nd,2x5ths & 1x6th winning a total of 10 points and finally Fred Stevenson with 1x1st winning 6 points.

After the presentation there was a small engraved cup and framed diploma which was presented to Reuben’s great grandson Thomas who looked after Reuben’s birds whilst Reuben was in hospital with Thomas winning three races for his great granddad thus resulted in Thomas being best new comer. Brian Dyjas would like to thank his wife Andrea who looked after the pigeons during the 2015 season enabling them to get the results they did. Also there was a sale of donated 2016 youngsters which fetched £388 which will give them a good start for the 2016 season.

The members would like to thank land lady Dawn who cooked excellent meals to order consisting of sausage, fish, fish cake with chips & curry sauce followed by gateaux and apple crumble & custard. The members would like to thank club secretary Jason for all the hard work he has put in over the year.
