Derby Premier & Derby South Road Flying Clubs Presentation 2016
Derby Premier & Derby South Road Flying Clubs held a joint presentation night at their joint headquarters the Brackens Public House Alvaston. Yours truly was asked to present the prizes as club president Jack Whitehouse was unable to attend due to being ill. (Get well soon Jack). Derby Premier were up first and top prize winners for the third year in succession were Paul & Lynda Todd winning Old Bird averages, Channel Averages, Old Bird inland averages, Longest young bird race, Carentan cup & Messac cup. This partnership had a excellent season winning 13x1sts, 9x2nds, 11x3rds & 14x4ths also topping the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation twice winning prize money of £1,150.00.
Runners up were L.D.S. Johnson winning 6x1sts, 8x2nds, 6x3rds & 4x4ths also Longest old bird race Niort cup plus topping the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation and winning prize money of £640.00.Next was Roy Gregory & Son winning 2x2nds, 2x3rds & 1x4th winning prize money of £110.00.Finally John Coote winning 1x1st,1x2nd,1x3rd & 1x4th winning prize money of £100.

Paul & Lynda Todd would like to thank Jake Harcup for the youngsters he bred them which flew very well having several prizes between them. Total pay out for 2016 season was £2000 .

Next it was the turn of Derby South Road Flying Club. First up and top prize winners for the 2016 season were L.D.S. Johnson winning 6x1sts, 6x2nds, 4x3rds, 2x4ths & 5x5ths plus the Carentan Trophy and prize money of £75.00.
Runner up was Mick Leszczyscak winning 4x1sts,5x2nds,6x3rds,5x4ths & 3x5ths plus the Messac Trophy and £71.00 prize money.
Next came Mr & Mrs P.Todd ( Paul & Lynda ) winning 5x1sts,5x2nds,4x3rds,3x4ths & 3x5ths plus the longest young bird race trophy and winnings of £66.00.
Roy Gregory & Son were next winning 4x1sts,4x2nds, 5x3rds, 5x4ths & 2x5ths and prize money of £63.00.
Brailsford & Doyle were next winning 1x1st, 3x2nds, 2x3rds, 4x4ths & 5x5ths winning prize money of £36.00.
Next was Mr & Mrs N. Wylie winning 2x1sts,1x3rd, 2x4ths & 1x5th winning prize money of £18.00.
Simon Woolley came next winning 1x1st, 1x3rd, 2x4ths & 3x5ths winning prize money of £15.00.
Finally Fred Stevenson winning 1x5th.Total pay out £345.00.

The members would like to thank Jack Whitehouse for his generous sponsorship guaranteeing £100 per race in Derby Premier also Paul & Lynda Todd for all their hard work over the 2016 season. Paul being secretary of both clubs also Derby Burton & District South Road Federation secretary and Lynda being a very efficient assistant as Paul works away a lot.
They would also like to thank Mick Leszczyszak for making sure the crates were cleaned every week and ready for basketing nights.
