Cracking race out of Yeovil sees Jim Parker & son of Stretton take top spot.
Saturday September 12th saw 9 clubs enter 918 birds for the race from Yeovil. There was a lot of liberations on site, so it was a day to be patient. The birds were released at 11-35 in a W.S.W. wind and the patience paid off as a cracking race ensued.
Congratulations to Jim Parker & son of Stretton on gaining 1st fed on 1696 with a Leo Hereman hen out of their Curtis, Wall & Lunt and Eijerkamp stock.

Mark had another cracking weekend, winning the Tividale gold ring and breeder buyer races. That brings marks’ record up to 26 x 1st this year.
Spink & Barks pushed mark all the way, taking 3rd & 4th club on 1644; 1643; with a cheq wf cock and a blue hen; again both Leo Heremans.
Birdage is now beginning to drop, I know some members would have entered birds in to the N.N.C.C. and Midland National channel races, both having poor returns locally?
Add to this some members have now looked at their loft and decided to stop young birds to guarantee numbers in their old bird team for 2021; and of course those young birds not on the darkness are now at the stage of the season where they cannot compete with the darkness teams.
So I can see this weekend’s Honiton special race and breeder buyer race being the last weekend of the season?
There is a Frome race scheduled for the weekend of September 26th/27th but I cannot see it being viable?
I think we’ve been fortunate in this covid 19 year to get as much racing as we have, I hope the members appreciate the work carried out by those members who have been there; week in, week out, to organise and carry out duties on marking and result nights.
Now we have the worrying autumn and winter months to come, keep safe everyone!!
