First bit of news is the telephone auction that takes place the week commencing Sunday February 1st at 10am, and will end on Sunday February 8th at 8pm.

2026 Futurity race
The race will be held from Yeovil on August 29th 2026 with a separate liberation.
Rings can be purchased at £10 each with a maximum of 5 rings per loft, rings can be purchased by anyone but birds can only be purchased and raced by members of the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation.
Birds must be in the pen on the day of the sale, and purchases paid for on the day of the sale. This year there will also be optional pools for both the breeders and buyers come race day.
Sale 1 takes place on Sunday March 11th at;
Chaddesden Jubilee Club in Derby, DE21 6LJ.
Penning Midday to 1pm, sale starts 1pm.
Sale 2 takes place on Friday April 3rd at;
Woodville Box Club near Swadlincote; DE11 7EH.
Penning 5pm to 6pm; sale starts at 6pm
80% of the sales proceeds go to prize money and the remaining 20% to federation funds.
There will be 10 prizes, 25%; 15%; 10%; 8%; and six prizes of 7%; each split 50/50 to both breeder and Buyer guaranteed. Last year 211 rings were purchased and the prize pot for the race was a staggering £9716-00.

2026 Breeder Buyer
The race will be held from Yeovil on September 5th 2026 with a separate liberation.
There will only be one sale this year, and this will take place on Friday March 27th at Woodville Box Club; DE11 7EH. Penning 5pm to 6pm; sale starts at 6pm.
Anyone can breed birds for the sale, and there is a 5 bird maximum limit. Birds can only be purchased and raced by members of the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation.
Birds must be in the pen on the day of the sale, and purchases paid for on the day of the sale.

2026 Old Bird programme starts on Saturday April 18th from Cheltenham; April 25th Marlborough; May 2nd Marlborough; May 9th Frome; May 16th Yeovil; May 23rd Exeter; May 30th Marlborough; June 6th Frome; June 13th Yeovil; June 20th Frome; June 27th Yeovil; July 4th Exeter.
The 2026 Young Bird programme starts on Saturday July 18th Cheltenham; July 25th Cheltenham; August 1st Marlborough; August 8th Marlborough; August 15th Marlborough; August 22nd Frome; August 29th Yeovil; September 5th Yeovil; September 12th Exeter.
There are also plans to have 3 Old Bird races from Guernsey on June 6th; June 27th; July 18th with the Heart of England Federation, these will be confirmed at a later date.
The Old Bird Inland Special race will take place from Exeter on May 23rd; this is optional, at £1 per bird, no limit on entries.
