Like most seasons the weather in May is very changeable and with heavy showers predicted for Saturday, the right decision was made by the race committee to cancel Friday night marking and schedule for a Sunday race due to the poor weather forecast.
This is one of the benefits of having our own transport.
The scheduled race from Ingleton was replaced by Otterburn (the day of liberation) with the birds away early at 0700 in a North West wind, and with the wind in the North the velocities were down from the previous racing. The returns were generally excellent with everyone happy that the right decision had been made for the pigeons and fanciers.
This week’s Federation winner was over in the North of the federation to the loft of J & N Barlow of Glenmavis club with his yearling Blue W/F hen. Well done to the partnership on topping the fed with 5,636 birds competing.
