Lanarkshire Federation -Dunbar 2 race 10th August 2018
This weeks weather forecast signaled trouble for the weekend ,so the committee made the decision to race on the Friday.This resulted in a great race with most reporting birds racing home in great fashion for another great race from Dunbar.Some have reservations about this race point,but the objective is to get the birds used to the transporter and racing home.This has been achieved and a big thanks to our race convoyer Tommy McDonagh for his flexibility and the hard work he undertakes for the federation.
The 4,321 birds and 12 Fauldhouse baskets were were away at 10 30 in a light west wind,they made light work of the 56 mile journey back into central Scotland.
This week was a brilliant race for Andy Eadie(Eadie & Kelly) of Newmains club.Andy is putting his recent retirement to good use and is working his Vanderabelle team brilliantly for a cool 1st ,2nd,3rd Open Federation.His Vanderabelles are the old lines.Andy had nine birds arrive together from his team of 28 sent and had most home in twenty minutes.He has raced these Vanderabelles very successfully for many a year and has a silver award SNFC with these lines.Andy the "Bellside Wizard" has been one of the top names in Lanarkshire for many a year and shows no sign of slowing down.Thanks Andy for the information on your winners.Well done Andy.
Others to note this week were Tam Richardson ,GWP Macaloney and George Baird who all had a fantastic race.
