The SWELC third race held of the season was at Ashbourne in Derbyshire at the base of the Peak District the birds were liberated on the 19/5/24 at 10.30am into a north east wind

The top twenty open positions in the club are as follows; taking number one plus 2nd, 19th and 20th open was Andrezj Stanowski flying 113 miles and also claiming 1st and 2nd South Bristol Club the winner a 1y blue hen being a R & D Faber of Titan 558 X Tyson X August Jansen his second a 1y Red cock being a Van Den Bulk the third a 1y chequer cock being a U & K Mazepa PL Line X Jansen X Graundalier and the final scoring bird a 1y chequer cock being a Leon Bores X August Jansen of Olympiad 003 lines all were flown on the roundabout system with velocities of 1780, 1779, 1765 and 1764.

3rd open plus 1st Oldlands club was Adrian Bishop flying 110 miles with a 1y chequer cock being bred from Brian Olver birds flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1778.

4th,6th,7th and 8th open plus 1,2,3,4 in the Sodbury Vale club was Chris & John Adams flying 105 miles their first a 2y blue hen of Wall Lunt & Greed blood and being bred by Mike Bullingham of Stroud their second a 3y blue cock of Coreman X Wall Lunt & Green followed in by a 1y dark cock being bred from birds from Joe Thompson of Bristol and their final a 4y chequer cock of Wall Lunt & Green breeding all were flown on the widowhood system with velocities of 1777, and 3 x 1775.

5th and 10th open plus 3rd and 4th South Bristol club was Andrew George flying 112 miles both Andy's scoring birds were purchased at the New North road Amalgamations Futurity young bird sales his first a 2y blue cock being bred by Wayne Knobbs of Mansfield and his second a 2y blue cock being bred by Ian Rockley of Nottingham both were raced on the widowhood system with velocities of 1776 and 1773.

9th open was Percy Hatherell flying 104 miles with a 2y dark pied cock doing 1774.

11th and 13th open was Alan Meacham flying 112 miles the first a 2y chequer pied cock being a Van Den Bulk and his second a 4y blue cock being a Van Den Bulk and is a full brother to a Lerwick open winner which has achieved 4 x 1st clubs and 2 x 1st open SWELC open wins for Alan these were raced on the widowhood with velocities of 1772 and 1779.256.

12th open plus 2nd Oldland club flying 108 miles was Mr & Mrs Graham Watkins with a 5y blue cock being a Kees Boshua with the parents originating from Paul Fisher of Blackpool and was raced on the widowhood system with a velocity of 1771.

14th open was J H Cole flying 105 miles with a 4y Grizzle cock doing 1769.

15th open plus 3rd Oldland club was Barry Shinner flying 109 miles with a 2y chequer white flight cock being which is a previous winner already for Barry with a velocity of 1768.711

16th open plus 1st Lydney club was Tony Palmer flying 91 miles with a 1y blue hen being a Van Loon that he purchased as a kit of six babies from the north east and which were not raced as a young birds only trained she was sent sitting nest eggs on the natural system on open loft hole method with a velocity of 1768.675

17th and 18th open was Dave Smith flying 102 miles with both scoring birds being bred by Leighton Golledge of Newport being Herman Cuesters flown on the roundabout system with velocities of 1768.238 and 1767.48.
