The SWELC second old bird race to report on was being flown from Penkridge on the 11/5/24 and at 12.30 into a light south east wind the birds were liberated on their way the top open twenty positions in the club are as follows claiming top of the table was Paul Cooper flying 67 miles and also achieving 1st Lydney Club his winner a 2y blue hen being a Herman Cuesters her father originating from Mark James of Wye View lofts and her mother being bred off Paul Titcomb of Bristol out his 2nd section 5th open Cholet 2014 scoring bird and this bird has bred Paul other scoring birds Paul's winner was flown on the south west route as a Young bird and switched north road as a yearling and now as a 2y she was sent on the traditional natural system sitting 17 day old chipping eggs on the natural open hole system with a winning velocity of 1409.

2nd and 4th open plus 1st and 2nd Longford club was the Walker Brothers flying 70 miles their first a 1y blue chequer hen being a Franz Zwols X Jan Hooyman and her sire being one of the brothers good producing stock cocks and race cocks winning 4th section 10th open CSCFC Perth for the brothers plus many other cards and her mother a Jan Hooymans from the partnership of Astbury & Horton of Cannock Chase she was sent on the natural system sitting 16 day old nest eggs their second arrival a 2y blue hen that was purchased at the new north road amalgamations young bird Futurity sales and was bred by the Adams Brothers of Bristol and being a Hardy Kruger sent also on the natural system sitting also 16 day old nest eggs their velocities were 1381 and 1355.790.

3rd and 19th open plus 1st Sodbury Vale club was Steve Bennett flying 84 miles his first a 1y chequer cock being bred from Gordon Brothers of Ireland stock of which they directly sent to Steve that are breeding winners for Steve on both routes north and south his second being a 3y blue cock being a Gino Clercq with his parents coming from Mark Gilbert and they were raced on the Mark Sparey system Steve is using to race on his velocities were 1361 and 1340.779.

5th, 11th, 12th and 14th open plus 3rd Sodbury Vale club was the Adams Brothers of Chris & John flying 84 miles their first a 4y blue chequer hen of Wall Lunt & Green bloodlines their second a 2y blue ben again of Wall Lunt & Green blood their 3rd a 3y blue cock of Coreman X wall Lunt & Green and their final arrival a 1y blue hen being a Hardy Kruger X Wall Lunt & Green all being flown on the widowhood system with velocities of 1355.617, 1346, 1345.645 and 1344.

6th, 7th, 13th and 18th open plus 3rd and 4th Sodbury Vale Club was Percy Hatherell flying 84 miles with velocities of 1354, 1363.575, 1345.578 and 1340.906.

8th open plus 2nd Lydney Club was Chris Harding flying 75 miles with a 1y blue hen being a Herman's Cuesters X Kittle flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1353.393.

9th open was Dave Smith flying 81 miles with a 2y Mealy hen being a Van Den Bulk flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1349.

10th open plus 1st Oldland club was Adrian Bishop flying 89 miles with a 1y blue hen being a Brian Olver of Bristol stock bred bird flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1347.

15th open plus 2nd Oldland club was Mr & Mrs Graham Watkins flying 87 miles with a 1y dark chequer hen being a Lambrecht raced on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1342.

16th open plus 3rd Oldland club was Steve Robbins flying 88 miles with a 2y Grizzle cock being a John Edward's of Barry south Wales bird crossed  Herman Cuesters raced naturally with a velocity of 1341.770.

17th open plus 3rd Longford club was Orchard & Vincent  flying 62 miles with a 2y blue hen being a Andreas Drapper that is a broken pigeon from the sadly passed away Ian Pollard were the partnership broke the pigeon out at their loft she was sent on the natural system sitting 4day old nest eggs with a velocity of 1341.131.

20th open was Andrezj Stanowski plus achieved 1st South Bristol Club flying 92 miles with a 1y red cock being a Dirk Van Den Bulk flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1340.047.
