Kingdom News - July 2012
Sorry for the delay of the following three results which were misplaced by me, taking me weeks to find them. Anyway at Ripon with 221 birds away the winners were Jimmy and Duane Bingham with a 3 yo Blue Pied Hen sent sitting 7 days. This one was bred by Ally Birkett from Kirkaldy. 2nd were George and Brian Hunter with a yearling blue cock on roundabout. This one is a full brother to Kingdom Spirit their Silver Award Winner and Dewar Trophy winner. 3rd place went to Andy Hutchison with a 2yo Blue Pied hen on 14 day eggs containing SVR bloodlines. In 4th it was Ian Brown with a 2yo Red cock on 10 day eggs. This one was 88th Open SNRPC Wanstead Flats in 2011, with the nestmate winning 1st club for Davie Smith a local fancier near Ian.
From Wakefield 201 birds were away and Secretary Gordon Cree wins with a yearling blue hen flying spare. Gordon tells me this was his first one from Peterborough YB National last year. John Skelton was 2nd with a yearling red Van Braune hen flying to a 2 day yb. 3rd were George and Brian Hunter with a yearling blue cock. This was the same bird as the week before from Ripon. Tont Celantano was 4th with a 2yo chq hen flying spare, and is George Brownlee cross Vanhee cross Patrick Bros.
At Leicester the birds were wisely brought back to Wakefield due to inclement weather. The winner of this Wakefield race with 129 birds away and topping the Kingdom was none other than Andy Hutchison! Andy timed in a yearling dark Chq hen of Tom Gilbertson bloodlines which was originally spare. She was put into another section. However she kept trying to get into the breeding section beside the racers. Anytime she got through she always went to another box beside another cock that she had taken a fancy to several times through the dowels! Well done Andy! Andy Ritchie the club clock setter was 2nd with a 2yo Blue cock whose hen had just laid her first egg on the Friday. She was bred from a cock via Andy Hutchison and a hen from Micky Locke from the Wirral. Neil Jarvie was 3rd with a yearling blue Janseen hen sent sitting 10 day eggs. Finally G & B Hunter were 4th with a 2yo Blue WF hen of G W Kirkland bloodlines. She is actually a full sister to their Dewar Trophy Winner!
