My Valentines Day

I will be dreaming, thinking and talking about pigeons like the last 38 years of our relationship. With 2 racing partners in Ireland and sleeping partners in the UK things are buzzing at every level. I tend to source new birds and advise on systems and science. We are all playing with my strain and each man is trying to forge an identity in the sport - the dedicated work continues between the monks in the monastery of racing pigeons. I am keen to see the results of our classy new birds - there may be a good one in them? The strain will evolve again as the egos of the keepers make an impact - the key racing man has been Sir Nicholas Harvey of Taunton - a practical racing man with great empathy - modestly setting about his Barcelona strain. My bulbs are flourishing in the garden where I meditate on a daily basis, as I did in the 1950s at Skendleby in the Lincolnshire Wolds, where I had my first flying out racers - mainly strags. I am looking forward to July - we need a 2nd day bird from Barcelona into the West Country. My pal plans to send from Cornwall - so watch out.
