THE MIRROR OF TRUTH
The way to self-realisation is via mirror gazing. You may be rewarded with insights into your own soul and spiritual identity A stream of consciousness may flood the head, and is like mindfulness and meditation. It seems to suit introverts and is a good source of introspection. Beware the darkness and possible insanity in the process as the ego is inverted upon the self.-Jim Emerton.

PIGEONS AND MENTAL HEALTH
Being amongst the natural world and in the presence of beautiful pigeons is great for the mind and soul. They can induce peace and calm and bring you out of yourself. They inspire thought and contemplation as objects of your gaze, as they are not aggressive or hostile and will adapt to man and be habituated. I love birds and enjoyed their company for 70 years, and they balance the psyche -Jim Emerton.

MY AFFINITY WITH ANIMALS AND LIFEFORMS
For therapy, I love to be amongst animals/birds insects and all lifeforms as pets and in the external, natural world. I observe them, study them and learn about them and have an intuitive affinity with them. I like to tend for them and conserve them from a pet magpie to my working dogs including a collie, a Labrador, greyhound and terrier. It is a rewarding spiritual, emotional and personal feeling initiated by communion with other life forms other than homo sapiens. Animals and birds have shaped my personality from a sportsman to a poet and philosopher. My garden is an ecosystem with foxes, wild birds and numerous bees and other insects, as I taught rural studies, ecology and conservation at one time prior to my writing career. Jim Emerton.
