THE BARCELONA DREAM
The wonder and romance of the awesome race spectacle is established in the minds of certain optimists, idealists and dreamers, especially in Ireland. There are good reasons for this, as it stretches the boundaries of realistic possibility. Race reality will dictate the outcome for the initiates who chance their arm in the greatest race on planet earth. Crucial, is the fact that the birds must have time on the wing of 10 to 12 hrs in a race in pre -Barcelona build up.
The words send em always spring to mind, since many people will not complete this part of the racing process. The race point remains often as a talking point only, as the UK and Irish entries will remain relatively low, contrasted with Poland who musters over 1 thousand birds, some of which fly in excess of 1,000 miles in race time.
Strikes me that there are some rugged individualists in Eastern Europe! Wise to pursue the dream, realise your ambition and send to the place that will bend and blow your mind!!Jim Emerton
