Wise to give most of your attention to individual bird behaviour and how to condition them or you may fail in racing later. There are many human influences about both good and bad, yet with dedication and applied mind you can create your own system of success at any level of competition. Study the natural world of birds, the weather and learn from it. Analyse what the needs of a fit bird are at the home end before it-they are psychological, physiological and environmental. Unite the best of these 3 variables over many years of competition and results will follow, as a few good birds will be bred in time. System is good practice of ideas.

TRUE INSIGHT.
This faculty of the mind is the result of the intuitive and perhaps mystical function of the brain/mind synthesis. It gives rapid perception of the essence or true nature of experience on a human level of understanding. The feeling linked with it is heightened on a personal and subjective level. I find academic/intellectual analysis to be a function of the ego at the top of consciousness. True insight can be primal or primordial, and may keep you alive in life on the edge and in danger. My personal experiences go as far as the roof of the world, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Kashmir inclusive of around 60 countries and islands of planet earth. As a poet and philosopher, the facility helps with sifting the truth and in the creation of original ideas and imagery, that are not plagiarism. Meditate and contemplate, then you may experience profound insights from the inner or spiritual man i.e. the deeper layers of the integrated and differentiated self.

How many times must a man fail to clock, before the day of destiny? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. That is why there are so few that clock from Barcelona at a distance well in excess of 800 miles. A band of brothers in an uncertain world, global warming and threats of being nuked abound. THE DEMANDS ON THE MARATHON MAN.
Most have fallen by the wayside when attempting Barcelona International at over 700 miles. The skill, patience, time and quality of bird are required in large doses. Many people aspire to do it and dream about and never send to the race-it is awesome in a true sense. However, as a mentor, two exceptional fanciers have distinguished themselves at this level and they are Nicholas Harvey @ Frank Kay in the modern era. Now I am helping various others to fly at a very high level of professionalism.

MAD DOGS AND MARATHON MEN.
The 800 mile men are a rare breed, and are exclusive enough to be called eccentric or perhaps barking. They are all singular and different down to the final oddball. Waiting for up to 10 days, sure tests patience and desire. Clocking is a satisfaction in proportion to the difficulty experienced for fancier and bird. There will always be a few who chance their arm in these epic endurance races, and more power to the elbow. Some may become legends in the game, and take a seat in the pantheon of sporting history. Believe me the birds have to be very special.

THE CAUSES OF POOR RESULTS IN PIGEON RACING.
I work from the belief that a good fancier gets good results, and with birds of mixed origins. The essence of success is in the brain/mind personality of the fancier-results go hand in hand with the applied talents and abilities of the human being. A top man will come through at any distance or loft location. Results then are down to you who manages and races the birds. Top condition from an effective system will see some of the birds do well-man and bird in harmony. Fortunes are made and lost buying and selling pigeons, and then repeating the process on a regular basis-hence the fashionable strain names for commercial reasons. Every possible commercial hype and device is used to make money from pigeons, when 42 years later I am still using my old bloodlines, with dedication and persistence. Losses in variable and changing elements will always take place whoever you are and wherever you are. The psychology of the fancier is most important.!
