SOURCING OUR OUTBREEDING PIGEONS

Time for some experimentation with our inbred strain. We have acquired 3 direct from Padfields Invincible paired to Nellie’s Lelly from House of Aarden - a direct dtr of 1st International Barcelona. From gentleman Bert Shepherd we have 5 direct from his Barcelona national winning genes. The birds inspire confidence with their breeding, price and breeding potential.
The practical key is that all 2 year olds will be destined for Barcelona International into the West Country, which will act as a measure of their true value. Not concerned about looks and phenotype of the offspring, the sole parameter will be breeding and racing performance, before we make value judgements as to the intrinsic quality of the birds - excellent origin or not!
On a psychological note, it stimulates our minds in terms of the future development of the strain. Happy with our race preparation, we hope to further improve the base quality of our birds and reputation. We could have sourced any birds, yet we chose the 2 origins on analysis and intuitive perceptions of the pigeon men concerned being confident in their genuine intentions and values in the pigeon sport.
