CORNWALL RACING IN THE BICC

by Jim Emerton

There is a will for actual birds to be sent from CORNWALL in some BICC races. Interested people need to take practical steps to realise this, for example by forming a specialist club to compete if membership of individuals is accepted by the BICC, or a suitably worded proposition for the AGM for the membership to vote on the initiation of a CORNISH section. Over 40 people have demonstrated their interest in joining the expansion of the BICC. I am keen to promote the availability of further distance racing for CORNWALL and have donated a trophy for the highest velocity into Cornwall from BICC BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL on a perpetual basis. It is a lovely piece and will take an awful lot of winning. Why not be a modern pioneer of marathon excellence and go for it. The BICC is in growth mode, and some top class birds are the result of the National/International programme of races. The essence is to provide via effective organisation and leadership the facilities and means to have a go. With generosity and good will all round, any basic problems can be resolved - an open, responsive and broadminded, personal approach is key to the future success of this exciting venture.
