Whenever you talk about marathon winning pigeons, the name Emerton always pops up, with his famous record winning Barcelona birds. Jim Emerton has had success with pigeons from 70-879 miles and is one of the most respected figures in pigeon racing. He has bred and raced birds for some 40+ years and there is nobody finer to follow if you want to be a marathon man and reach the heights which Jim did. Jim is an eccentric genius and broke records, one pigeon namely-Barcelona Dream still holds the record for the longest flying member of the British International Championship club from Barcelona. In 1995, he was the only bird of 20,936 who flew more than 800 miles. Once starting to read, you won’t be able to put the books down as they are full of facts, tips and useful points that will set you on your journey to hopefully time your beloved birds at the marathon races. One particular fancier who read these books, is the great Philip Hodson. When he purchased these books, he was a complete novice and having read them picked out key facts of conditioning the birds for the endurance races and timed a two year old hen from Barcelona after having read these books and learning greatly from them.
