Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Presentation 2017.
Saturday October 28th and the Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club held its annual prize presentation at it's club headquarters The Seven Oaks in Stanton.
Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was up north combine secretary Pam Grange. The evening started with a excellent meal of which there was a wide variety of choice of meats and vegetables and to say the least the meal was first class.After the meal Derek Towers club secretary gave a short speech on how the club has progressed over the last three years and thanked the members for their support. That followed with Derek introducing the guest of honour Pam Grange ( Dereks daughter ) then it was on to the presentation.
First up was Steve Treece with total prize money of £19.80.Next came hard working club secretary Derek Towers with total prize money of £21.00 followed by Dave Smith with total prize money of £57.50. Next up was Rick Shelton with total prize money of £74.10 and it was nice to see Rick looking so well after his recent illness.
Next with £112.80 was Mr & Mrs K Haslam followed by R & M Duffield with prize money of £352.00.Top prize winners for the 2017 season was John & Pamela Dowd with prize money of £406.40.
The loft of John & Pamela Dowd have been exceptionally outstanding at club & Fed level as they were also top prize winners in the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation.Congratulations to you both on a outstanding 2017 season.
After the presentation was over there was a very well supported raffle with Eileen doing a first class job with plenty of prizes up for grabs if your luck was in.
Derek then presented Pam Grange with a nice present which was truly fitting as she did a excellent job.Before the evening was over Derek announced his retirement from the sport and the members wished him all the best in his new ventures and thanked him for all the hard work he has done in his time in office to get the club where it is today.
