Saturday July 8th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Ancenis for their final old bird race of the season with this being their blue riband event.The pigeons were liberated at 06-45.Taking the first three positions in Osmaston Park Homing Society and getting the first three pigeons into Derby was S & H W Hall.Taking the red card was a cheq cock doing 1179 followed by a two blue hens doing 1157 & 1098 with all three being yearlings.In fourth position was Hall & Torry with a yearling cheq pied hen doing 1060.
Stan Hall Osmaston Park Homing Society winner - Roger & Mark Duffield Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club winners - Alan Peach Etwall & District Flying Club winner.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club R & M Duffield take the red card doing 1228 followed by Steve Treece in second doing 1205.In third doing 1192 was Dave Smith with John & Pamela Dowd in fourth doing 1183.
In Etwall & District Flying Club A.Peach & Son take the red card with a blue cock doing 1219 followed by Mick Leszczyszak in second & fourth with two red cocks doing 1180 & 1057.Peter & Shirley Harrison took third position with a blue hen doing 1107.
Paul & Lynda Todd Derby Premier winners
Derby Premier were at Hullavington with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation and the pigeons were liberated at 08-30 in a north west wind.Taking the first four positions was Paul & Lynda Todd with a yearling blue cock which was bred by Steve Foster doing 1431.6 getting its second first prize of the season.This was followed by a yearling cheq cock doing 1431.1 then a yearling blue hen doing 1430 with a three year old cheq cock doing 1416 to take fourth.
