Saturday June 10th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Fourgeres in for the second of their federation special races. The pigeons were liberated at 10-20 in a south south west wind. Only sending two pigeons and getting the first pigeon into Derby taking the red card in Osmaston Park Homing Society was Jake Harcup.His winner was a four year old blue hen doing 1885 being well fancied as it was pooled to £10 in the special race.In second & third positions was S & H W Hall.Their first pigeon was a blue yearling hen doing 1861 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1859.In fourth with a three year old blue hen doing 1833 was Mick Stone.


In Etwall & District Flying Club A.Peach & Son get the winner with a three year old cock doing 1865 followed by Mick Leszczysak in second with a yearling cock doing 1835. Third position went to Sam Phillips with a yearling cock doing 1833 followed by P & S Harrison with a two year old hen doing 1813 to take fourth.


In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club R & M Duffield take the red card doing 1852.6 with John & Pamela Dowd taking second & third positions doing 1852.4 & 1852.2.In fourth position was D.Smith doing 1830.


In the Brackens South Road Flying Club Reuben Hough takes three of the first four positions doing 1736,1551 & 1522.His winner was a yearling blue cock followed by a four year old cheq cock then a two year old cheq cock.In second position with a yearling blue cock doing 1714 was Mr & Mrs Jason Phillips.


The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also had an inland race from Frome and the pigeons were basketed Saturday for a Sunday race. The pigeons were liberated at 09-30 in a south south west wind.


In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve Billings gets the red card with a three year old blue cock doing 2055 with Alan & Liz Houldsworth in second & third positions with a three year old blue cock doing 2023.5 and a yearling blue cock doing 2023.2.Fourth position went to A.Peach & Son doing 2006 with a yearling pied hen.


In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club it turned out to be a two loft race with R & M Duffield taking the red card making it a double over the weekend. Their winner was a yearling blue hen doing 2039 with their second pigeon doing 2015 to take third. Second & fourth positions went to John & Pamela Dowd doing 2028 & 2014.


In Osmaston Park Homing Society Mick Stone gets the winner with a yearling blue cock doing 2015.Second & third positions went to Mick Fearn with a yearling cheq cock doing 2014 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 2010.In fourth position was John & Steve Hicks with a four year old blue cock doing 2009.

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation also basketed Saturday for a Sunday race from Blandford and the pigeons were liberated at 07-30 in a south west wind. In Derby Premier making a clean sweep was Paul & Lynda Todd. Their first two pigeons were yearling cheq hens with the winner doing 1877 and their next pigeon doing 1876.5.Taking third position was a two year old cheq hen doing 1876.4 with a three year old b/pied hen doing 1874 to take fourth.
