Saturday May 20th and both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Blandford with both Federations making the decision to liberate early with bad weather forecast later in the day.
Burton & South Derbyshire Federation got theirs away at 07-00 in a light south west wind.Getting the first pigeon into Derby was Osmaston Park Homing Society winner Mick Stone with a b/w/f hen doing 1720 having its first race of the season and the only pigeon into Derby doing over 1700 ypm. In second position was Mick Fearn with a yearling cheq cock doing 1677 with S & H W Hall taking the next two positions with a three year old blue cock and a yearling cheq w/f cock both doing 1665.

In The Brackens South Road Flying Club Paul & Lynda made it a clean sweep with a four year old b/pied hen doing 1687 then a yearling cheq hen doing 1651 followed by a yearling b/w/f hen doing 1637 then a two year old blue hen doing 1619.


In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Roger & Mark Duffield take the first three positions with the first two pigeons being two,two year old blue hens doing 1759 & 1715.9 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1715.5.John & Pamela Dowd were fourth with a two year old blue cock doing 1692.


In Etwall & District Flying Club Alan & Liz Houldsworth took the first three positions with the red card going to a yearling cheq hen doing 1679 followed by a two year old cheq cock doing 1665 ( Last weeks winner ) then a yearling b/pied hen doing 1653.In fourth position was Willy Horton with a two year old blue cock doing 1630.


The Derby Burton & District South got theirs away at 06-45 in a light south west wind.Making a clean sweep in Derby Premier was Paul & Lynda Todd with a three year old blue cock taking the red card doing 1693 followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1693.Taking third position was a eight year old cheq hen doing 1666 with a three year old cheq cock doing 1665 to take fourth.
