Derby Burton & District South Road Federation Newbury. 

 

The Derby Burton & District South Federation were at Newbury on the 4th May where 72 members sent 1478 birds which were liberated at 08-30 in a north wind. Topping the fed was the inform loft of Seleton members D. Willis & Family with a yearling cock doing 1313.5 which was eight yards clear of the second pigeon. This loft was also fourth & fifth fed with a yearling hen doing 1301.5 and a two year old cock doing 1301.1.In second was club mate Monty Buxton with a yearling cheq cock doing 1305.8.P.Rimmington & I Wright ( Woodhouse ) were in third & tenth places with a two year old doing 1304.4 and a yearling doing 1294.1, with Woodhouse members M & A Sherwood taking sixth with a yearling doing 1299.8.Seventh position went to South Normanton member R. Coope with a yearling cheq cock doing 1298.0. Selston members R & M Duffield were eighth with a yearling cock doing 1297.4.In ninth was Mr & Mrs A Jackson Woodhouse with yearling doing 1296.9.

 

 

 

In the south section five of the first six positions went to Selston members with D. Willis & Family taking 1st,3rd & 4th.Their first pigeon was a yearling cock doing 1313.5 followed by a yearling hen doing 1301.5 then a two-year-old cock doing 1301.1. Second section went to M. Buxton with a yearling cheq cock doing 1305.8. South Normanton member R. Coope took fifth with a yearling cheq cock doing 1298.0 with R & M Duffield in sixth with a yearling cock doing 1297.4.

In the North Section Woodhouse dominated the result with P. Rimmington & I Wright taking three of the first six. Their section winner was a two-year-old doing 1304.4 followed by a yearling doing 1294.1 and a four-year-old doing taking 1293.3 taking fourth & fifth. In second was M & A Sherwood doing1299.8 with a yearling followed by Mr & Mrs A Jackson in third with yearling doing 1296.9. With B & C Brelsford & Son in sixth with a yearling doing 1293.1.

 

 

 

In Selston D. Willis & Family had a good day with two of their members topping the fed out of three races to date. Taking three of the first four positions was D. Willis & Family. His winner was a yearling cock doing 1313.5 with a yearling hen doing 1301.5 in third and a two-year-old cock doing 1301.1 in fourth. In second with a yearling cheq cock doing 1305.8 was Monty Buxton.

 

 

 

In Woodhouse P. Rimmington & I. Wright get the winner with a two-year-old doing 1304.4 followed by a yearling doing 1294.1 taking fourth. In second with a yearling doing 1299.8 was M & A Sherwood, with Mr & Mrs A. Jackson in third with a yearling doing 1296.9. 

 

 

 

In South Normanton R. Coope takes the first two positions with a yearling cheq cock doing 1298.0 taking the red card followed by a two-year-old blue hen doing 1272.7 in second. In third with a cheq pied cock doing 1214.5 was R. Black with F & M Groom in fourth with a three-year-old mealy cock doing 1204.9.

 

 

 

In Park Broughtons Geelan & Goodwin take the first & third positions with two, two year old hens doing 1283.7 & 1278.1.In second was J. Broughton & Sons with a yearling cheq hen doing 1281.3.with W.O Brien & Son in fourth with a yearling cock doing 1272.2.

 

 

 

In Poolsbrook M & L Herbert came out on top with a three-year-old cheq hen doing 1281.8. taking the red card. With S. Tongue & Orme taking the next three with a yearling red hen doing 1278.5 followed by a two-year-old blue hen doing 1256.9 then a five-year-old blue cock doing 1243.7.

 

 

 

In Swallownest D. Trow cleans up taking the first four. His winner was a four-year-old blue pied cock doing 1275.5 getting top spot, followed by two yearling cocks doing 1273.3 & 1265.2 taking second & third, with a three-year-old blue cock doing 1242.5 in fourth.

 

 

 

In Storey Arms J. Barker makes it a hat trick of wins with a two-year blue pied cock getting its second first prize doing 1174.2. Taking the next three was K.J. Walker with three yearling cocks doing 1167.5, 1148.8 & 1139.6.

In Kilburn Club K. Foulke gets two three-year-old hens. The first a dark hen doing 1172.9 to take the red card followed by a blue hen doing 1133.5 to take fourth. In second with a two-year-old blue cock doing 1158 was K. Cresswell with Stuart Wainwright in third with a yearling cheq hen doing 1138.7.
