Saturday September 7th and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Portsmouth where 50 members sent 1022 birds which were liberated at 08-15 in a fresh north wind. Congratulations to Selston member Monty Buxton on topping the fed with a blue cock doing 1304.2 the only pigeon doing over 1300.The next six positions also belonged to Selston members with R & M Duffield in second with a blue cock doing 1299.1
.In third & fourth were S & K Purdy doing 1298.9 & 1296.6.In fifth was Ralph Jepson doing 1295.4 followed by C.Davey in sixth doing 1288.2 and M.H.Jepson in seventh doing 1287.0.The next three positions went to Railway Inn North members with V.Derricott & T.Poole in eighth with a blue hen doing 1276.8 followed by D.Poole in ninth & tenth with a blue cock doing 1276.3 and a b/pied cock doing 1275.9.
In the south section Selston members dominated taking the first six positions with Monty Buxton topping the section with his fed topper a blue cock doing 1304.2. (well done again Monty). In second was R & M Duffield with a blue cock doing 1299.1. Third & fourth went to S & K Purdy doing 1298.9 & 1296.6 with fifth going to Ralph Jepson doing 1287.0 and C. Davey in sixth doing 1288.2.
Topping the north section was Railway Inn North members V.Derricott & T.Poole with a blue hen doing 1276.8 followed by D.Poole in second & third with a blue cock doing 1276.3 and a b/pied cock doing 1275.9.Fourth & fifth positions went to Mr & Mrs A.Jackson doing 1275.5 & 1275.4. with Park members Broughtons Geelan & Goodwin in sixth with a cheq cock doing 1275.0.

In Park Broughtons,Geelan & Goodwin made it a clean sweep with a cheq cock doing 1275.0 taking the red card followed by a blue cock doing 1273.2 then a blue hen doing 1273.0 and a blue cock doing 1272.9.
In Storey Arms it was a podium finish for K.J.Walker taking the first three doing 1367.4,1240.9 & 1227.3. ( Sorry no more information ).
M & L Herbert took the red card in Poolsbrook with a blue cock doing 1245.9 followed by a cheq cock doing 1237.1 taking third.In second was Jepson & Bennett with a bl/pied hen doing 1240.4 and taking fourth was Mr & Mrs Cox & Sons & Vardy with a blue hen doing 1236.5.
In Swallownest D.Trow took first & fourth with a blue cock getting the red card doing 1191.5 followed by a blue hen doing 861.2.In second was P & A Wilcox with a b/pied cock doing 1053.9 with Overton,Rimmington & Wright in third with a cheq hen doing 935.
In Kilburn club R.Parkin & Hall took the red card with a blue cock doing 1071.5 followed by a blue hen doing 1016.0 in third.In second & fourth was K.Foulke with a dark hen doing 1043.8 and a dark cock doing 994.7.
South Normanton winner was R.Black with a cheq cock doing 1055.8 taking the red card followed by J.Hendy taking the next three with a red hen doing 1004.6 then two cheq hens doing 1003.7 & 1003.6.
