Osmaston Park Homing Society Presentation Evening 2016

Saturday December 10th was the occasion of the Osmaston Park Homing Society prize presentation evening which was held at their club head quarters The Jubilee Club in Chaddesden. To start proceedings the hard working club secretary Steve Stone gave a short speech on the progress of the club saying how it had moved forward with more members joining the club and the prize fund being so well supported it could pay out more to its members. Then the secretary introduced the guest of honour for the evening which was hard working club member Mick Willis and asked him to present the prizes.

Top prize winner for the 2016 season and first up to the table after having a fantastic season in his club and getting the first pigeon into Derby six times with 147 points was Mick Stone. Mick won 9x1sts,9x2nds,5x3rds,4x4ths plus12 minor cards winning prize money of £391.02 plus gold ring race money of £111.60,breeder buyer money of £78.75 plus show race money of £225.00 making a total of £806.37 plus winning highest points trophy, Highest winning velocity trophy ( 1728 ),Carentan cup,& G. R. Evans shield for the longer race.

Runner up was S & H W Hall with 83 points winning 4x1sts,2x2nds,6x3rds,5x4ths plus 9 minor prizes winning prize money of £220.78 plus Old Bird Inland Average Trophy, Channel Average, Combine Average & young bird Average.

Hard working secretary Steve Stone came next with 74 points winning 5x1sts, 3x2nds,4x3rds,3x4ths plus 3 minor prizes winning prize money of £196.84,plus Gold Ring race winnings of £223.40,Breeder buyer winnings £126.00,Show race winnings £235.00 and old bird knock out winnings £11.50 making a total of £792.74 plus Niort Trophy, Ken Hall Memorial Trophy, Gold Ring Race cup, Breeder/Buyer race  trophy.

Next came Dave Waddington with 40 points winning 1x1st,2x2nds,2x3rds,3x4ths plus 4 minor prizes winning prize money of £106.40,Show race money £125.00 and breeder buyer winnings of £31.50 making a total of £262.90.

John & Steve Hicks came next with 36 points winning 1x1st, 2x2nds,2x4ths plus 9 minor prizes winning prize money of £95.76 plus Show Race money of £75.00 making a total of £170.76.

Next with 26 points was Dave Glew winning 1x1st,1x2nd,2x3rds plus 5 minor prizes making a total of £69.16.Plus Messac/Fourgeres shield,Lowest winning velocity trophy.

Roy Gregory & Son came next with 26 points winning 1x1st,1x2nd,1x3rd,1x4th plus 2 minor prizes making a total of £61.18.

Next with 21 points was the clubs press officer Mick Fearn winning 1x1st,2x3rds,2x4ths plus 1 minor prize winning prize money of £55.86 plus Breeder Buyer winnings of £78.75 making a total of £134.61.

Ron Hall & George Torry (Ron’s grandson) came next with 21 points winning 2x2nds,1x3rd,2x4ths plus 1 minor prize winning a total of £55.86.

Jake Harcup came next with 12 points winning 1x2nd,1x3rd,1x4th plus 1 minor prize making a total of £31.92 plus Show Race money of £75 making a total of £106.92.

Next was Mark Yule & John Inger with 9 points winning 1x1st plus 2 minor prizes making a total of £23.94 plus Show race money of £10.00 making a total of £33.94.

Mick Willis & Family came next with 8 points winning 1x2nd,1x4th and 1 minor prize making a total of £21.28 plus Show Race winnings of £105.00.Old Bird K/O winnings of £11.50 making a total of £137.78 also winning Nicholson Brothers Old Bird K/O Trophy.

Next came Derek Ford with 4 points winning 4 minor prizes making a total of £10.64 plus.

Then with Show Race winnings of £35.00 was Paul Adams.

Sports Person of the year went to Scott Willis.

Total pay out for 2016 was £2898.64.

After the presentation there was a excellent buffet with the rest of the evening being enjoyed by all.

The hard work put in by the secretary Steve Stone and members of this club is a credit to them all and I am sure 2017 will be better still because of their determination to move forward.
