Castle Gresley Annual Show which was held at the Joiners Arms Swadlincote on December 28th, 2024.
Castle Gresley Flying Club held their annual show at the Joiners Arms Swadlincote on the 28th December 2024.
There were five classes -: Eyesign, 150 mile Old Cocks or Old Hens Handled, 60 mile Young Cocks or Young Hens Handled, Old Cocks or Old Hens Through The Wires, Young Cocks or Hens Through The Wires, Penning of the pigeons was from 13-00 to 14-00 and judging the eyesign class was Chris Gilliver who came along after being at work from 01-30 in the morning. Winning this class were Mick Willis & Family also taking third fourth Reserve & Commended. With G.W.Evans taking second & Very Highly Commended and taking Highly Commended was Scot Stringer.

The judges for the other classes which were 60 mile Young Cock or Hen,150 mile Old Cock or Hen which were both handling classes, Old Cock or Hen T.T.W. & Young Cock or Hen T.T.W. FAILED TO TURN UP so Shaun Stanton was asked to join Chris Gilliver so as the rest of the classes could be judged.
The winners of the 60 mile Young Cocks or Hens class was won by Mick Willis & Family who also took Third & Very Highly Commended and Best Opposite Sex.

Taking Second was John Inger, with G.W.Evans taking Fourth. Taking Reserve, Highly Commended & Commended was Alan Peach.
In the 150 mile Old Cock or Hens Class Keith Burton took the red card also taking Third & Very Highly Commended. Taking Second & Reserve were Mick Willis & Family with Alan & Liz Houldsworth taking Fourth. Taking Highly Commended & Commended was Alan Peach & Son.

In the Old Cocks & Old Hens T.T.W. Class Chris Gilliver took the red card with Litherland, Baily & Harrison taking Second, Third, Fourth & Reserve. Taking Very Highly Commended was John Inger with Mick Willis & Family taking Highly Commended. Taking Commended were Alan & Liz Houldsworth.

In the Young Cocks & Hens Class T.T.W. Chris Gilliver took the red card also Best in Show along with Very Highly Commended. Taking Second & Third & Fourth was John Inger with Alan & Liz Houldsworth taking Reserve. Highly Commended & Commended were Willis Family.
