MARK NESBITT (R) RECEIVING THE MALTSTERS TROPHY IN 2019
Mark won 30 x 1st this year, 12 x 1st at Lea Hall; 8 x 1st at Hill Ridware; topped the Burton & South Derbyshire fed twice, and being runner up on 5 occasions, 1st Worcester fed; 2 x 1st in training races; 3 x 1st in gold ring races and 2 x 1st in breeder buyers. But it was his YB’s that really hit the heights in the special races across the midlands.
In the P & D Stud Purbeck race on the bank holiday Monday when 39 sent 627, Mark took 1st & 2nd in the gold ring race, and 1st in the diamond ring race. “Sammy Jo” won the gold ring race winning £1220, and “Diamond Queen” was runner up in the gold ring race and took 1st in the diamond ring race winning £2275.

Both these are daughters of “Champion Isla” marks top Leo Hereman hen who won the RPRA UK champion award for 0-250 mile and RPRA West Midland Regional award winner, both in 2018, she won 4 x 1st fed and has since been retired into the stock pen, what a bird, and only 4 year old.
It was the Tividale gold ring race next from Carentan, 97 members sent 362 and “Harry Junior” took top spot for Mark winning £2529.62, to cap a fantastic day “Tividale Queen” a granddaughter of “Isla” won the Tividale breeder buyer race from Carentan, 181 birds entered and she won £4131.18.

The last breeder buyer mark had to race, was the Burton & South Derbyshire fed from Honiton. He had two hens lined up for the job, but kept back a daughter of “Isla” has she was beginning to moult heavy and he wanted to make sure he had her safe and sound ready for racing in 2021. So he sent just the one Leo Hereman hen, but that was enough, she was 1st winning £832.32 plus two gold coins worth over £200.

Congratulations Mark on a fantastic set of results against strong birdages, not just sprinting, but from over the channel; and in a N.E. head wind out of Honiton for the fed breeder buyer win.
