LANARKSHIRE FEDERATION
Tom Corrie
Burnbank HS & Low Waters HC trophy winners 2013
This year, like a number of the previous ones, these two clubs held a joint presentation night in the Carrigans function suite, Hamilton. This is a cracking venue and was full to bursting with fanciers and friends to celebrate this year’s winners. The atmosphere was really good and I enjoyed presenting all this year’s winners for their hard work and top performances.
I can see why they have come together in such an ideal environment, a real winner with all who attended.
Low Waters and Burnbank are very much a part of the heartline of the Lanarkshire Federation, well established clubs steeped with everything Lanarkshire Federation, top doo men and very professional in their management.
The night included a cracking meal, presentation of trophies and a live band.
I took the time to speak to a number of familiar faces including Jim Hannah one of Lanarkshire greats, who as ever was amenable to my requests to send me some updated photos of Lanarkshire’s top pigeons.
I also spoke to Alan Torrance and his wife about his recent arson attack on his loft in the compound. He is making a steady recovery and thanks everyone involved for their help. Alan has shown a resilience to carry on with the sport he loves. We wish him all the best and back to normal business; hopefully the Phoenix will rise from the ashes.
Well done to all who made the night for all who attended.
The Corrie clan attended and we gave the evening at 10 out of 10.
Burnbank HS Prize Winners
This year’s champion loft for Burnbank HC was Walter Boswell who had a brilliant year with his outstanding Louella Jan Aarden base pigeons. Have a look for yourself at the trophies won, his pigeons really coming into their own in the longest races in the programme, winning 18 Scottish National Flying Club diplomas in 4 races entered. Outstanding - must be the best tally in the west section. Well done to Walter and his family who all attended to congratulate him on a cracking season.

This year’s Champion loft was Gerry McFall, winning all the major Average trophies, some flying in this large club. Gerry has not been that long in the pigeons but is showing a keen eye for conditioning them to win top prizes.
