I was asked by Laindon RPC secretary Steve Smith if I could put a little something together to show boat the Laindon prize winners in 2019 so here goes. On the 14^th March 2020 myself and nephew Martin Jones were off to the Laindon RPC prize presentation where Steve Smith one of the hardest working secretary’s in the pigeon game put on a great night in fact Steve always puts on great night for his club and tonight was no exception with over 70 guests and members in attendance. The Entertainment for the night were live band “Revolver” who kept everyone on their toes, also an auction of top class pigeons auctioned by club member David Coward-Talbot the birds auctioned were gifted to the club from Butcher Bro Central lofts, Davis & Son Colchester, Mr Hartog John Gerard & distance aces L&K Buddle on behalf of the Laindon members I thank you. The big talking point on the night was the coronavirus little did we know that if this presentation would have been organised just one week later it would of been cancelled due to the UK government putting the country in lock down. (See this is what I mean Steve Smith is such a good organiser that he even beat the government Covid lockdown amazing Stephen truly amazing). Anyway enough of the doom & gloom let’s get onto the reason why we came.

David Coward-Talbot

The prize winners! Top of the tree was David Coward-Talbot. David wins 8 x1^st 2 x 2^nd 5 x 3^rd 400ml cup, best bird Ager shield for flyer of the year, 1^st Alencon best average 3 longest young bird races and £330.40p well done David great season.

Steve Smith

Second highest prize winner is super secretary Stephen Smith. Steve wins 6 x 1^st 3 x 2^nd 5 x 3^rd inland O/Bird average and £277.30 great flying Stephen.

Pat Newall

Next we have Pat Newell, Pat wins 3 x 1^st 4 x 2^nd 4 x 3^rd and £206.50. Well done Pat nice to see you back at the top.

Micky "The Ace" Harvey

Next is Micky (THE ACE) Harvey no stranger to the prize table. Micky wins 3 x 1^st 3 x 2^nd 1 x 3^rd & £153.40 well done Micky.

Jason Reeves

Next we have a lad who broke his novice status Jason Reeve. Jason wins 1 x 1^ST 4 X 2^ND 4 X 3^RD The Novice cup and £135.70 congratulations mate on breaking your novice status.

Gary Watts

Gary Watts Gary wins 2 x 1^st 1 x 2^nd 3 x 3rd Falaise old bird cup and £112.10 Nice one Gary.

Roger Tate and Tommy "Two Clocks" Hedley

Roger Tate was up next winning 2 x1st 2 x 2^nd 1 x 3^rd and £106.20 well done Roger.

Eddie Butcher

New members Butcher Bros they win 2 x 1^st 1 x 2^nd 1 x 3^rd and £47.50 they also donated one of the nights auction birds which made a nice few quid for the club funds well done lads.

Sellwyn Abraham

Next we have the South African super star Sellwyn Abraham Sellwyn wins 1 x 1^st 2 x 2^nd 1 x 3^rd 1^st Falaise and £47.50 Well done Sellwyn.

John Wells

The painter John Wells John wins 1 x 1^st 1 x 2^nd and £29.50 well done John mate.

Avni Januzi

Avni Januzi. Avni only racing a few birds each week he wins 1 x 4^th well done Avni. Other prize winners were Norman Flint & Tommy Two Clocks Hendley Frank White Darius Dumitrascu & Steve Maugham. I would like to sign off with a well done to all the member & guest for making it another great Laindon night and allowing me to put a few words together to express your clubs performances and may the great nights continue.
