MOANS AND GROANS
It strikes me that many people are disenchanted with the politics of the sport and the way it is run and organised. Policies and rules will never be perfect as long as humans are involved in the decision making process. If i thought things may be perfected ,i would make creative suggestions. It is enough for me to be involved in actual races,and there are plenty of these,despite moans and groans up to Barcelona.Wise to look in your own mirror and develop a good racing system and methods to suit your competitive ambitions. However i do feel we should have universal recognition that International racing is at the top level of the sport ,like Olympics in athletics. Race realism helps you to accept the conditions that apply to each race,and all of these will be variable.

PAIRING UP
This is simple. If all your birds are of good breeding,let them choose their own mates. This saves confinement of pairs to boxes and general faffing about in the loft. Racers should be love mates and all let out together to choose their own as one colony. I like latebreds from the Barcelona birds all paired together,and after 41 years they are inbred specimens. It is a waste of time to spend hours and days trying to pair up birds to some ego led master plan. Ybs from racers can be as good as those from selected stock as genes and constitution will rule the day.

INFORMATION
From top to bottom we rely on clear,concise,hard and true information to function at an effective level. I find that much info is not accurate which paints a false picture of what we need-serious fact and reality. I prefer the better books on pigeons to read and learn the important things about all aspects of the sport. There is serious info out there for the discerning person on the science/art/psychology and total management of pigeons. I have read all the good books that are out there. The genuine names in global pigeon racing work hard to print sound info for the readership. Zsolt Talaber is a good vet and author. Wise to look carefully.

BREXIT.
These negotiations reveal much ruthless psychology,and manipulative strategy. The men on the chessboard are playing a tactical end game. I feel we should call their bluff at every move. The hard line is total withdrawal from the game and then agree with the new proposal or not depending upon the nature of the content. Every insincerity and slight of hand and con may be used in the process. The aim will be to win at any cost. It sure reminds me of my old convenor days-the whole idea of it is tooth and claw in the concrete jungle,and is repugnant.

RPRA.
The pure essence of the sport is the racing of pigeons.I feel the cttee needs racing men of great charisma ,love of racing and ability ,to improve the finer aspects of racing,up to International level. Some make a career out of power politics ,and the hierarchical structure of meetings and cttees-an exercise in power and control. I no longer belong to cttees yet try and promote the sport at all levels. There is a grass roots need and call to simplify objectives,rules and procedures in the RPRA,to make it simple and effective for the club racing man. My partner and i adopt a protocol and practice of simple racing to Barcelona ,with our eye on condition of the entrants. You can see our focus and dedication is on the management of a strain,not beauracratic power in a remote organisation. Despite negativity,the sport is still there to be enjoyed,with a love for the birds.
