WATCHING THE SKIES.
I spent years looking up into the sky. I love the movement and sounds of birds; to feel part of it,to identify them and study them. You have a total perception of the environs and it is condusive to contemplation. Often sexing of racers is easy by their appearance and behaviours in the air. Swallows,martins and swifts are easy as are the finches by sight and sound. Many birds fly over at night and can be identified especially migrant geese like pinkfeet. My eye is used to the vast horizons of wilderness which i have loved. At Holtby racers could be spotted zooming in over the fields from short to extreme distances-i could recognise most in the air in one of the great joys of the sport. On my global travels birds have been my focus in around 60 countries and islands,and a friend of mine has visited 196 countries-every 1 on planet earth.

THE CASE FOR CREATIVE WRITING.
I do get brassed off with endless regurgitation of facts in reports and articles. Fresh insights,original ideas,and novel imagery are more exciting to me. They can lead to new innovations,practices and advance the status of knowledge in new and specialist areas. They are the result of an imaginative and vibrant psyche, and the genesis of creative writing may be the gift,genius and eccentricity of the author. Great works transcend objectivity and convention and lead to a fresh approach in many subject areas,and may penetrate popular consciousness. In my books i have tried to adhere to my principles and creative core and foundations.

COMMENTS ON HYPNOSIS
As a young man i passed a course in Hypnotherapy. Hypnotists are often powerful,charismatic,mesmeric people who radiate charm,and are convincing and persuasive. Often empathetic,they are similar in effect to charming,conman rogues. In practice the patient or person is made suggestive by your apparent honesty and integrity. A reassuring ,calm,yet cheerful voice tone helps in the hypnotic process,which is brain/personality based. When i ran a little business these elements were part of my sales techniquess too. The correct emotional tone of the hypnotist is crucial,along with perceived status.

THE PITFALLS OF MODERN SYSTEMS.
I do not favour enclosed loft racing regimes with continental sprint origins. Unless you get the loft environment spot on ,the birds are prey to many diseases and stress. I feel that darkness systems are not condusive to distance and marathon racing in later years. We are reaping the negative consequences of virulent strains of viruses and bacteria like ecol and salmonella,and trichomonads that are resistant to most antibiotics. In my perception,in pursuit of win,win, win many birds are not tested far enough in races,and are not as hardy as some birds used to be; despite my nostalgia for the past. There are too many attempts at fair-weather liberations. I feel that International racing is the acid test of race quality,as championed by The BICC. Many people have realised the standards set by this organisation. You do not have to be a genius to race at this level and to time birds,yet participation will improve your racing prowess in the long term.
