With great enthusiasm and starting at the bottom in a club, if you are good enough a long career may lurk ahead. At first good results are imperative, when others will attempt to knock you off your little perch as part of the competitive, human psyche. Good publicity leads to recognition, deserved or not deserved and aim to do something unusual or different. Many aspiring people sell birds, a nice way to make contacts. You may reach a stage, after years where enough is enough and wish to contribute back to the sport by mentoring, writing and giving birds of your strain away. With a long career in the bag, there may be changes that define the phases of your lifecycle from young ambitious man to the wise old boy. It will be a journey which tells the story of your life-of pain, pleasure and enjoyment.
