THE HUMAN SPIRIT.
The human spirit is an integral aspect of the brain/mind synthesis. On introspection mine has no connection with a supernatural being or God. However one may exist within the vastness of the cosmos, as an abstract possibility. Intense perception and heightened sensitivity or empathy may connect you in a psychic way with other people or groups. My age has weakened this connection, yet the hypnotherapist uses the phenomenon. Beware tuning in to the psyche of disturbed, psychotic people unless you have a solid, stable inner man. I find that introversion is conducive to harmony in these areas of mind to mind unity. The 17 volumes of C. G.Jung are essential reading to examine psychic/paranormal phenomena- I write from personal experience.

HOW TO GET YOUNG BIRDS TO HOME.
Mine were on the marathon mix feeding system and ranged the countryside on and off all day and sometimes at night. They had access to hoppers of pellets all day, went fielding with wild birds, sat on wires, the cottage and barns sunning themselves. Happy and contented at home they won many club, open races and up to 362 miles on the day Sartilly NFC- I was a young bird specialist-how it happened is in my 3 books on pigeon racing. I like nice long tosses up to say 100 miles to swell bodies and sharpen instincts. 200 mile races will sort your breeding out and leave you some promising birds on the open loft, personalised natural system. Birds kept hungry will fail on tough flights.

I AM A BIRD.
I am a bird that floats across the sky, a spirit free that will not die.
If i should fall back down to earth, a long life lived in joy and mirth, the rain will fall and the wind will howl, an echo in the cosmic whole.
I lived my life and took the chance, the fiery flame of sweet romance.
I was a moth that yearned for the light, so that I may feel the power and be consumed by beauty.

THE STRUGGLE FOR RECOGNITION.
Due to some good results and ongoing publicity, my work in the sport has been well known since 1982. I still like to contribute back to the essence and spirit of the sport in the form of advice, books and articles. The keys are patience, perseverance and persistence, in the ethos of marathon racing and strain building up to Barcelona. So far it has been a 41 year project that is enjoyable. Fanciers come and go like ships that pass in the night, yet the love of the humble racing pigeon remains and transcends commercialism in the form of lofty idealism. I still believe in the pioneers who set new challenges on the far edge of possibility with their birds and the sport needs new stars to admire and inspire others in the game. People like Swindell and Nicholson are rising to the challenge-radical, unconventional, gutsy and admirable.
This will help to raise the profile of the sport in popular culture as there is a lot of negativity and depression about.
