THE FINAL FRONTIER IN PIGEON RACING

by Jim Emerton

This is the time of year when opinions rage, attitudes shift and emotions run high as to the biggest, the greatest, the fastest and all the superlatives in pigeon racing. Clubs and organisations battle for supremacy led by needy and hungry human egos. Is the NFC or the BICC the greatest of the organisations with exemplary programmes? The contest will continue as long as the competitive spirit of man runs high, and people identify and associate with what is popular and perceived to be the best. In the final analysis it is opinion, biased thinking and lacking in absolute definitive selection criteria. However in my personal, individual and biased judgement the final frontier of contemporary pigeon racing is the Barcelona International - organised in 2014, ostensibly by the BICC and BBC. Take a risk. Be ambitious and chance your arm. Feel the rush of euphoria when you clock.
