POLISH & OTHER PIGEONS

by Jim Emerton

Birds with the right fancier will do some wonderful things. I note the modern influx into the studs of Dutch Barcelona birds, for the commercial dissemination of the offspring for keen enthusiasts who want a taste of big time racing. International racing, based and organised from Belgium, is de riguer for us in the UK and Ireland. You can certainly form a strain on some of these imports if you do it right! The House of Aarden is dedicated to quality of origins in its selections for breeding purposes.

We need to step outside the conventional countries of origin, and import some of the Polish Barcelona International birds which fly mammoth distances and in great numbers between 900 and 1000 miles, which is a rugged, sporting religion to the tough guys of Poland. Let’s see a stud establish these birds for sale to develop the pioneering work of the Poles. Other potential countries of source are Russia, Denmark, Sweden and New Zealand. At the setting of the sun the fancier makes the pigeon and there are some top men in Poland.
