How did you get the name Mcfungus?
I’ve always been a Ballz to the wall, all in kind of person, I was addicted to PS1, PS2, then the XBOX, came along.
I used to play PGR 1, then PGR 2, driving games… a total ‘Holic….
Then!! the ‘Tiger Woods’ Golf game on XBOX, and it took over my life!
I’d play 18 holes in the morning before I went to work! Lol!!
So by Tiger 5, I was ranked 2 in the world, could never beat ‘Rasmus’, lol!
This is over 20 years ago! Remember!
….and my gamer tag was ‘Fergus mcfungus’, cause people couldn’t believe it was my real name…. A front, a disguise .. you might say..and they were right! Lol!
Tell us all about yourself as you fascinate me.
I was reared in the 70’s - 80’s, usual trauma’s, a lot of people face… mum died in ‘76, I was 8, dad remarried. Called her ‘the dragon’ (never to her face)
Dad was a good man, but spineless.
He worked as a groundsman, in construction,
And little by little, he pilfered enough wood to build me a loft… circa ‘84-‘85….
A couple of old dudes, had lofts around me from when I was 9-12…..
Anyway,…… dysfunctional, family domestics, found me hiding in my loft, with two stock pair, & 8 ybs a year……
Never had to go in the house!!
Are you in love with nature?
Ridiculous question!!
We house close to 200 birds, we have…… 3 dogs, 3 mini Shetland ponies, 1 blue and yellow macaw. 2 Guinea Pigs, 1 Dagu….
Several hundred sparrows, doves, and crows!!
Soooo… to answer your question, I’m not religious, more towards spiritual…possibly Hindi/ sheik ish… (forgive my spelling)
I believe we are all equal , I believe it is ok to do ‘bad’ things, if you have to, but do ‘good’ things, when u can.
I work in an office, I sleep in a house, and I live in my sheds.
What breeds of birds have you?
I’m building around a family of Soojens, I have a son of ‘Olympic Star’ here, on an old plate.. and 4 other pairs
Very honest birds.. my WDW Bird, survived being twice out overnight, and still turned up on the last day!!

What are your dreams with racers?
My dream is to be standing, on a Saturday, with a beer in hand and watching my birds drop from 300m, from Rennes or Sartilley, and in time…..!
Nothing like watching a pigeon close its wings from miles up!
How do you feed?
Couldn’t tell you, not allowed to, I was given a routine by a very well-known flyer, on these fb sites! And swore to secrecy…… he drives a Citroen….C.V.
So in response… I feed a bit o’ this, and a bit o’ that! Lol!!
Who do you rate in the sport?
As mentioned previously, I last did this sport, in the mid 80’s.
One of the young men, then, is still flying, and running the club, single handed, (to date!)
Has been a great supporter of TTR,
A national winner, the kind of person this sport was built on…
So in the world of pigeons… I respect Wullie Mcculloch, Dalbeattie club…everything!

Are you an eccentric character like me?
I think that’s a given…but remember, we are only eccentric, by someone else’s measurements,
I feel quite normal to me! Lol!!
What are your plans for the future?
I refer you to Q7, there really is nothing else on the horizon
How do you see your impact on the sport?
I would imagine, my impact will go unobserved,
But this, like life, is not about ‘them’, it’s about the impact on you!
The impact has been huge!
