The IHU. NFC held their fourth old bird National race last weekend from Penzance in Cornwall. The birds were convoyed courtesy of the NIPA whom the committee of the IHU. NFC would like to thank for their efforts.
The birds were liberated at 7:30am into a north east breeze changing to south west on route.
As usual this is only a provisional result / report and placing could change as it is based on phone in times only.
The top ten in the result are as follows.

As can be seen from the above, it’s obvious that the birds arrived along the east, south east coast, but there were some fine performances put in by birds flying to more inland destinations.

Well Frank, Here is a bit of info on my first bird home from the Penzance National.
The bird was bred by my good friend Peter Whelan of Na Deise R.P.C. Dungarvan.
He is a 2yo cheq Gevaert Van Schoorisse x Lambrechts cock the g,dam has bred
13 individual 1st prize winners for Peter, I would like to thank Peter for the gift of the pigeon, kind Regards Brendan Buckley.

My winning bird from Penzance was given to me as a young bird by Joe Donnelly, Enniscorty, bred down from a pair he bought from John Halstead.
She has some previous form having won a club race for me as a young bird.
