NEWS FROM THE BROMFORD 2010
The bromford held its a.g.m on 12-12-09 with a nearly full membership attending.
All offices being filled by the same people as last year with only two proposals to discuss plus vote on the meeting only took a short time with most members being happy the way the club is being run by our president john harvey chairman john moore and secretary keith brown plus our committee after the a.g.m.an ordinary meeting was called to look at things to sort out for the forthcoming racing season.one proposition was to join a north rd federation after some discussion it was left for some investigation to be done regarding costs ect and to be discussed at a future meeting when all information is available it was also agreed that the club will continue holding the annual shows but will now be open shows with garanteed prize money for each class.these will be run by grahame wilkes with orther members offering there help if and when needed.grahame said he had some ideas of ways to raise some money so the shows would be self surporting plus if some of the local south rd fanciers who like showing their birds could come along and have a go it will hopefully bring back some local interest to the area.
my idea is to have six shows one per week around the end of november and december starting with old bird eyesign then young bird eye sign followed by old cocks then old hens with young cocks then finishing with young hens.
All classes will be handling classes their will be good cash prizes plus rosetes for the first three in every class plus prize cards with a trophy for the competitor with the most points over the six shows.there will be more information on this later in the year closer to the shows.
now a update on the birmingham gold ring.one loft race 2010
i am pleased to anounce that all 40 places have been booked with all competitors having either paid a deposit with more than half having paid in full.this means that the full £2,000 prize fund can be paid out.
as a matter of interest their are people from nottingham, bromsgrove, west heath, bilston, oldbury and aldridge plus the bromford members.
Out of 40 gold rings on offer twenty one have gone to pigeon fanciers with the other nineteen going to none pigeon flyers so lets hope that these people enjoy the racing and hopefully win something.who knows we might get one or two interested in racing birds themselves lets hope.
anyone requiring any information on any of the above or wishes to fly north rd and is in the radious of 4 mile n.e.w.and 4 miles of st barnabus church erdington
