Ballylesson Members Prize-giving
Saturday 22nd October saw members of the Ballylesson club hold their Annual prize distribution in the clubrooms and apologies were received from Secretary John Albert who through ill health was unable to attend but he did however send in a short speech which was read to those present . He began by thanking everyone for their continued support throughout 2022 and Dorothy for her help on Friday nights and at Derby races. Colin for his help at ring allocations, race results and the upkeep of the hall. He had a special word of thanks for Paul ,Davy and Alan for all their help basketing birds . He continued by stating that the Ballylesson Club prides itself in being a well run club and thanked everyone for their support and assistance .
The Ballylesson club are fortunate in having two Presidents and John thanked President Mervyn Patterson for being present to present the prizes and he extended the best wishes of the club to the club’s other President Alan McWilliams hoping he would be able to come to some of the shows . Thanks was extended to John Patterson & Caroline for undertaking the washing up and it was remarked that this is not just a club of members but a club of good friends .
Top prize-winner in 2022 was John Patterson, still at the top of his game.
Next were C & D Smyth & Sons with Mackey & Lockhart in 3rd place with the rest of the members coming in closely behind.
All in all it was another very enjoyable event help in Ballylesson.
