Saturday August 19th and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Frome with 1773 birds being liberated at 06-45 in a strong west wind.Having an excellent days racing was Monty Buxton of Selston who took the first three positions in the fed also 7th.His first two pigeons were cheq cocks doing 1708.3 & 1706.1.Both these pigeons were 1st & 2nd fed from Windrush on the 5/8/17 in the same order.His third pigeon was a blue hen doing 1704.27 followed by a blue cock doing 1703.0.In 4th,5th,6th,13th & 16th was P.Rimmington & Wright of Darnell.Their first pigeon was a red hen doing 1704.23 followed by a blue hen doing 1704 then a blue cock doing 1703.7 followed by two blue hens doing 1690.6 & 1682.4.In 8th,18th & 20th was S & K Purdy of Selston with three cocks doing 1702.4,1678.5 & 1676.3.M & A Sherwood of Woodhouse were 9th & 19th with a cheq hen doing 1699.2 and a blue hen doing 1678.0..Derby Premier members Mr & Mrs P Todd were 10th & 15th with a cheq cock doing 1698.1 and a blue hen doing 1684.1.R.Hallsworth of Selston took 11 position with a hen doing 1693.5.In 12th was G.Jones & Proctor with a pied cock doing 1693.4.B.A.Evans Selston was 14th with a cock doing 1689.8.In 17th was Boden & Hollingworth Woodhouse with a cheq hen doing 1680.
