Sunday June 25th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Messac for their third federation special race.The pigeons were liberated at 09-30 in a light west wind.
Getting the first two pigeons into Derby and taking the honours in Osmaston Park Homing Society was S & H W Hall.Their winner was a yearling cheq cock doing 1408 followed by a two year old blue hen doing 1349 to take second.In third position with a three year old blue cock doing 1337 was Dave Glew followed by Derek Ford with a four year old blue hen doing 1326 to take fourth.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club D & A Smith take the red card doing 1381 followed by Derek Ford in second doing 1326.In third position was R & M Duffield doing 1321 with Mr & Mrs John Dowd in fourth doing 1302.
In Etwall & District Flying Club A.Peach & Son get the winner with a cheq yearling cock doing 1342 also fourth position with a blue yearling hen doing 1306. In second position was Willy Horton with a three year old dark cock doing 1339.With third position going to Dave Williams & Son with a five year old mealy pied cock doing 1335.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held a inland race on Saturday 24th June from Bath and the pigeons were liberated at 14-00 in a west wind.
In Etwall & District Flying Club getting the red card and the first pigeon into Derby was the man & wife partnership of Tony & June Whitehurst.Their winner was a two year old mealy cock bred by Ricks & Spears doing 1690 and well clear of the field.In second & third positions was Alan & Liz Houldsworth.Their first pigeon was a two year old cheq cock doing 1637.9 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1628.In fourth position was A.Peach & Son with a two year old cheq hen doing 1627.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society it was Mick Stone adding to his tally of 1sts with a b/w/f hen doing 1655.In second position was Brian Dyjas with a yearling blue cock doing 1637.4 followed by John & Steve Hicks in third with a three year old blue cock doing 1635 with Mick Willis & Family in fourth with a two year old cheq pied cock doing 1622.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Mr & Mrs John Dowd take the top two positions doing 1640.7 & 1640 4. In third & fourth positions doing 1629 & 1617 was R & M Duffield.
The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Hullavington and the pigeons were liberated at 09-30 in a west south west wind.Making a clean sweep in Derby Premier was Paul & Lynda Todd with a two year old b/w/f hen doing 1672 this being a previous winner.Their second pigeon was a four year old blue hen doing 1647 followed by a eight year old cheq hen doing 1617 then a yearling blue cock doing 1616.
