Saturday June 21st 2014 and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Blanford and the pigeons were liberated at 09-00 in a light north wind turning north west en route.
Getting the first pigeon into Derby was the Chaddesden loft of John & Steve Hicks with a yearling blue cock doing 1396. In second position with a yearling mealy cock doing 1381 was Paul & Lynda Todd followed by Roy Gregory & Son in third & fourth positions with two, two year old blue cocks doing 1368 & 1367.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society the in form loft of Mick Stone continues to dominate taking the red card also fourth position. Mick's winner was a yearling blue cock doing 1394. This pigeon won as a young bird and has had 3x1sts & 2x2nds this season followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1360. In second & third positions was Mick Fearn of Little Eaton with a three year old cheq cock doing 1382 followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1366.
In the Silver Ghost Homing Society Rueben Hough celebrates his 91st birthday by getting the winner also third position. Rueben's first pigeon was a two year old blue cock doing 1392 followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1325. In second & fourth positions was Brian Dyjas with two yearling blue cocks doing 1342 & 1322.
In Etwall & District Flying Club Alan & Liz Houldsworth take the first two positions with a two year old blue cock doing 1388 and a three year old blue cock doing 1380. In third & fourth positions was last week's winners Mr & Mrs T Childs & Son with a d/ch cock doing 1366 and a b/w/f cock doing 1360 both were yearlings.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club hard working secretary Derek Towers gets the red card with a yearling blue cock doing 1384. In second position was Mr & Mrs John Dowd with a yearling cheq cock doing 1383 followed by Rick Shelton with a yearling cheq cock doing 1380 with Roger & Mark Duffield in fourth with a two year old blue cock doing 1374.
Derby Premier were at Messac with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation for the second of their federation special races. This turned out to be a tough race with only three pigeons home which all belonged to Paul & Lynda Todd. Their winner was a two year old cheq hen doing 964 which previous to this race was 1st club Falaise 3rd Derby Burton & District South Road Federation. Their second pigeon was a four year old blue hen doing 633 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 600.

Getting the first pigeon into Derby and getting his hat trick after celebrating his 91st birthday the week previous was Reuben Hough with a yearling blue cheq hen doing 1413. Reuben also takes second position with a yearling blue cock doing 1215. In third position was Brian Dyjas with a yearling blue cock doing 1151 followed by Ernie Barker with a two year old b/pied cock doing 1138.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society Mick Willis & Family get the red card with their good lambrect cock doing 1411. In second position was Mick Stone with a yearling doing 1202 followed by Mick Fearn with a three year old blue cock doing 1201 with Steve Stone in fourth with a three year old cheq cock doing 1169.
In Derby South Road John & Steve Hicks take three of the first four positions doing 1408, 1161 & 1116. Their winner was a yearling cheq cock followed by two blue yearling cocks.In second position was Roy Gregory & Son with a two year old blue cock doing 1245.
In their five bird section Roy Gregory & Son take first & fourth positions doing 1245 & 931 with John & Steve Hicks in second & third positions doing 1116 & 980.
In Ilkeston Bulls Flying Club Roger & Mark Duffield take three of the first four positions doing 1295,1155 & 1148. Their winner was a two year old blue cock followed by a yearling blue hen then a three year old blue cock. In second position was Mr & Mrs Dowd with a four year old blue cock doing 1219.
In Etwall & District Flying Club A. Peach & Son take the red card with a late bred cheq cock doing 1216. In second & third positions was Alan & Liz Houldsworth with a five year old blue cock doing 1203 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1145 with Steve Billings in fourth with a yearling c/w/f cock doing 1144.
Derby Premier were at Marlborough with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation and the pigeons were liberated at 08-15 in a south wind. Paul & Lynda Todd take the top three positions. Their first two pigeons were yearling cheq hens doing 1390 & 1281 followed by a two year old cheq hen doing 1277 with Roy Gregory & Son in fourth with a yearling blue cock doing 1274.
