The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation
The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Windrush on Sunday August 11th with the pigeons being basketed Saturday due to the bad weather forecast once again. Fifty-nine members sent 1419 birds and were liberated at 07-45 in a south, south west wind. Taking the first five positions in the fed making it a high five with their pigeons the only ones doing over 1800 ypm was Selston members John & Pamela Dowd. Their fed topper was doing 1808.7 followed by two cheq hens doing 1806.1 & 1805.8 followed by two blues doing 1804.3 & 1801.4.Congratulations to you both excellent performances. Taking the next three positions were also Selston members Monty Buxton who took sixth & eighth doing 1780.2 & 1728.6 with Mr & Mrs K Haslam in seventh doing 1735.9. In ninth was D. Poole Railway with a cheq cock doing 1724.9 followed by M & L Herbert Poolsbrook in tenth with a cheq cock doing 1717.4.
South Section.
In the south section Selston members dominated the result with John & Pamlea Dowd taking the first five positions doing 1808.7.1806.1,1805.8,1804.3 & 1801.4. In sixth was Monty Buxton doing 1780.2.

North Section.
Topping the north section with a cheq cock doing 1724.9 was Railway Inn North member D. Poole followed by Poolsbrook members M & L Herbert in second & third with a cheq hen doing 1717.4 and a blue hen doing 1716.1.Fourth & fifth positions went to Railway Inn North members V. Derricott & T. Poole with two blue hens doing 1715.8 & 1713.6 with Woodhouse members Mr & Mrs A Jackson doing 1706.6 in sixth.
Club News.
In Selston club it was a clean sweep for John & Pamela Dowd getting a high five and taking the first five on the fed with velocities of 1808.7,1806.1,1805.8,1804.3,& 1801.4.Excellent performance.
In Railway Inn North D. Poole took first & fourth with two blue cocks doing 1724.9 and 1614.3. In second & third were V. Dericott & D. Poole with two blue hens doing 1715.8 & 1713.6.
Taking the top two in Poolsbrook were M & L Herbert with a cheq hen doing 1717.4 and a blue hen doing 1716.1.Taking third & fourth were Mr & Mrs Cox & Sons & Vardy with a blue pied hen doing 1700.7 and a blue cock doing 1691.1.
In Kilburn Club Keith Cresswell gets the winner a blue hen doing 1714.6 with Keith Foulke in second & third with a cheq hen doing 1655.0 and a blue cock doing 1572.7.followed by Stuart Wainwright in fourth with a blue hen doing 1519.9.
Getting the red card in South Normanton and also taking third was R. Slingsby with velocities of 1679.2 & 1506.6. In second was R. Black doing 1578.5 with J. Hendy in fourth doing 1424.8.
T & H Garner & Morton came out on top in Park with a cheq cock doing 1634.8 with Broughtons Geelan & Goodwin in second with a blue hen doing 1634.2. In third was G. Marsden with a blue hen doing 1633.8.followed by V. Walker & Robinson in fourth doing 1632.9.
In Swalownest Overton, Rimmington & Wright take the red card with a cheq hen doing 1573.6.
In Storey Arms J. Barker takes the top two spots with two blue hens doing 1341.4 & 1340.2.K.J.Walker take third doing 1328.7 with a blue hen followed by C.P. Edwards in fourth with a cheq hen doing 1027.6.
In Woodhouse Mr & Mrs A. Jackson take the first three doing 1706.6,1685.2 & 1684.0 followed by B & C Brelsford & Son in fourth doing 1681.5.
