Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Presentation Evening
Saturday October 29th saw the presentation evening for Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club which was held at their club headquarters the Seven Oaks public house in Stanton. Presenting the prizes and chief guest of honour for the evening was Eileen Towers. (The secretarys wife)
The evening got under way with an excellent meal being a carvery with a choice of beef, pork or turkey with all the usual trimmings followed by a choice of sweets, apple pie, lemon meringue or chocolate fudge cake.

After the excellent meal it was down to the presentation. The secretary Derek Towers gave a short speech explaining that birdage was down particularly young birds, due to heavy losses. Then Eileen was asked to present the prizes. Top prize winners for the 2016 season putting up some excellent performances also topping the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation was John & Pamela Dowd winning 18 x 1sts. Next up was Derek Towers followed by Neil & Lisa Inger with Rick Shelton coming next then Dave Smith followed by Steve Treece and finally Dave & Yvonne Slack.
John & Pamela Dowd would like to thank Roy Gregory for the advice which he gave them prior to the young bird season which enabled them to have the excellent young bird season they did.
I would like to thank the members and officials of Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club for inviting myself &
my wife along for a very enjoyable evening.
