The British Barcelona Club held their 52nd Annual Award Presentation and Dinner on the weekend of Saturday 19th November at The
Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth. Over the Friday and Saturday it was lovely to catch up with old friends and meet up with some new faces who have never attended the dinner before. With members attending from all over the British Isles they did the Club proud.
Our Chairman Roger Hurst began the evening by saying grace before we sat down to a very enjoyable four course meal.
After the meal Roger went on to introduce the top table and thank all of the Club’s sponsors to whom we owe a debt of gratitude for supporting the Club. Our Guests of Honour were Les & Meryl Blacklock (President of the
RPRA) who we would like to thank for making TheBritish BarcelonaClub

Blue Riband race winners Ian Crammond & Nigel Langstaff. Personally, I would like to thank Christine
White and Anne Hooper for all their help with the trophies and flowers and thank Martin,
Kevin White and Robbie Hooper for keeping out of our way. For the presentation of the cups and trophies we called upon our Guest of Honour

Les Blacklock, who did a marvellous job of handing out nearly 70 trophies plus other awards.
The final job for the evening was the raffle, and sadly this year Nick Ferriman who has helped pull out the raffle tickets for as many years as I can remember was unable to attend due to ill health, so we had to recruit a new member of the team and the person that fitted the job perfectly was young Corey Rogers who seemed made for the job. (We would all like to send Nick our very best wishes and hope to see him again very soon).
