BORDEAUX NATIONAL 2012
Additional Report
Here are a couple of late catch-ups from our Bordeaux National.
Bill Edwards, 2nd section G 3rd Open National
Bill says: ‘GB 09 N 33322 is a previous winner of 11th section 136th Open Niort B.B.C. and is now 3rd Open 2nd Section B.B.C Bordeaux. Sire Grandson Nat II bred by J & D Staddon. Dam Great Granddaughter of Sumo and Poco bred by Mr & Mrs Long. He also went to Tarbes with the N.F.C. but went missing for 2 weeks on his hols (don't know where?) but came home as fit as a fiddle flying about like a bird possessed. Well done to the winner. Not forgetting all the competitors for without them there would be no winners.’

3rd open for Bill
Luis Pereira and Bryan Stubbs, 2nd & 3rd Section H BBC Bordeaux National
Having sent six to this national, the partnership had four on the day, with the remaining two in the loft by 6.30 the following day. This was very good flying considering there were only 7 day bird into the Channel Islands. First and second in the clock were Blue cock 36713 and Red cheq hen 48721; these two birds arrived together with no 13 trapping first. Not only are the birds paired to each other they are also half brother - half sister, same father different mothers. Red cheq hen 48721 was 1st section 19th open Messac national 2011 only to be injured in her next race, this side lining her for the rest of the season. No13 has flown very steadily all year without being outstanding. The third bird home was light red cheq cock. The fourth bird home, although not timed due to Bryan leaving with the clock to go to club was a red cheq cock that has been in the clock this season at Messac, Niort and Saintes. All birds are close by related; all are from stock obtained from Augusto Rodrigues from St Malo. The make-up of these birds being pure Portuguese originally from Augusto's brother in Portugal.
