The Skinningrove H/S partnership of Sayers Bros, Dave, Brian & Kenny the 1st Club, 1st Fed Bubwith winners from a convoy of 2,249 birds, timed a couple of their entries to win a top-notch 1st and 2nd Club, with the red card being won by a 2y recording a chart-topping vel of 1507 which was enough to win a earth-shattering 1st East Cleveland Federation from a 66 members entry of 1,171 birds, 1st Section 7 winning £136.55 in prize money, 2nd UNC winning a Combine Silver Medal and 2nd North Of England Homing Union Open from a convoy of 26,042 birds. The lads blue card scorer achieved a vel of 1478.9 to chalk up 11th Fed and 121st UNC to round off a brilliant days racing. Tich Richards & Alice Marsay were in 3rd position with Tich and Granddaughter Alice's green card potter being their consistent 4y that knocked out a vel of 1478.6 to net 12th Fed, 123rd UNC, 2nd Loftus Championship Club netting £36.00 and 2nd Sponsorship banking another £60,00. Mike Prokopowicz & Son Lee clocked a couple of birds to lift 4th and 6th Club with the yellow card being potted by a well-fancied 3y chequer hen bred by Wayne Doonan to lift 14th Fed on 1748.0, the hen went onto take 2nd £2 Fed Nom netting £39.00, 3rd Loftus Championship Club pocketing £24.00 and 3rd Sponsorship picking up another £40.00 and 126th UNC. The yellow card scoring hen is no stranger in the clock for she has five cards in the first five from Eastbourne and is also the previous winner of 1st Fed Peterborough. Ian Stafford & Sparky Wilson clocked a yearling doing 1477 to claim 5th Club, 130th UNC; the duo timed a later well-fancied yearling to take 3rd £2 Fed Nom and £26.00 and then they clocked another well-fancied yearling to win £5 Fed Nom and £90.00.

The loft of R & D Hood hits the winners' enclosure in outstanding style at Staithes, with Robin's well out in front pole position winning yearling recording a chart-topping vel of 1494 which was enough to score a very impressive and well-earned 2nd Fed, 32nd UNC and 33rd Open.
Reg Wilson, Ray Mole & Partners recorded their second win on the belt at Brotton H/S after timing no fewer than five of their team to win a top-notch 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Club, with their red card winner being a yearling achieving a top vel of 1485.9 which was enough to score a notable 4th Fed, 77th UNC and 78th Open. The green card was potted by Reg & Ray's well-fancied 3y making 1483 to go onto take 9th Fed winning £1 Fed Nom, 1st £2 Fed Nom netting £89.00, 1st Loftus Championship Club netting £60.00, 1st Sponsorship pocketing £100.00, 1st £100 Nom and 101st UNC. The yellow was potted by a 4y doing 1482 to lift 10th Fed, 104th UNC and next came a 2y on 1472.8 for 19th Fed and 173rd Combine to round off a very good days racing. Mr & Mrs Golly “Graham” & Linda Peirson & Tubby “Graham” Purver and loft helpers Ian “Evo” Everington and Franky are in 2nd spot with the gangs blue card potter being a yearling on 1485.0 for a useful 7th Fed, 82nd UNC and 83rd Open.
Alan & David Wright narrowly win their second win on the trot and third win of the season at Skelton Green 7/228, with their winner being a 2y making 1485.6 to chalk up a very nice 5th Fed, 78th UNC and 79th Open. The partnership of Bill Chapman, Sons Steve & Colin and the late Tommy Swinburne enjoyed a good clocking day when no less than three of their squad were timed to lift a useful 2nd, 3rd and 4th Club. With the lads blue card scoring 2y that was clocked the same time as the Club winner but beaten on overfly knocked out a vel of 1485.5 to claim a nice 6th Fed, 80th UNC and 81st Open. Bill, Colin & Steve's green card potter was a 3y doing 1472.1 for 191st Combine and their yellow card lifter was a yearling.
Geoff Bavin has started to get his birds into gear for the lad wins top spot at Marske & New Marske for the second race running, after the previous weeks impressive 1st Club, 6th Fed Oakham (2) out of 1,463 birds, Geoff times a couple of his entries this time around to win 1st and 2nd Club. With the red card being won by a 2y blue pied roundabout hen from Rutland Lofts; the blue card was awarded to a 2y chequer roundabout hen of Geoff's own Schoorisse family which has done very well for him over the years. The late Jack “The Lad” Brown & Tony Hunt filled a couple of chambers to lift 3rd and 4th Club with Tony's green card potter being a yearling blue Tournier/Bouchet widowhood cock. In cell two came a 2016 bred blue Tournier/Kess Bosua widowhood cock that claimed 2nd Club the previous week. Paul Longstaff & Geoff Moore were next with a 2y blue widowhood cock.
Moving onto the Brotton Six Bird Club where the partnership of Kevin & Merv Brown & Bill “Sacker” Cole record their second win of the season, with Kevin, his Father Merv and the Karaoke singing Sacker, red card winner being a 4y. The lads first win of the year was achieved at Oakham (1) when their chart-topper went onto net 27th Fed out of an entry of 2,191 birds. W & S Ward pocket 2nd and 5th Club with a 4y and a yearling, while Andrew & Gavin Doe, John “Dillon” Swales and the late Sandy Sanderson clocked a 2y and a 3y to lift 3rd and 6th Club. Mr & Mrs Bob & Barbara Moore took 4th Club with their yellow card potter being a yearling.
Leather Bros, Albert & Tony comes out on top at Lingdale, with the late George Skidmore & Grandsons Michael & Liam Jackson chalking up 2nd and 3rd Club. Ian “Knocker” Brown timed a couple of 2y to win 1st and 2nd Club at Boosbeck, with the red card winner achieving a vel of 1471.9 for 194th Combine.
Next stop is the Teesside Federation where the inform Billingham T U partnership of Tommy & Gary Clarke record their fourth win of the season after timing five birds to win a top-notch 1st and 3rd Club, 1st, 3rd, 13th, 14th and 16th Fed out of an entry of 622 birds. With Tommy & Gary's pole position winner being their inform 2y chequer hen who achieved a chart-topping vel of 1504 to go onto win a fantastic 1st Fed Nom, 1st £5 pools pocketing £60.00, 1st Section 5 when there were 4,172 birds competing 5th UNC and 5th Open. Tommy & Gary's winner is having a season of all seasons for she won an awesome 1st Club, 1st Fed out of Bubwith on the opening day of the season from an entry of 946 birds. Two weeks later when the birds were at Oakham (1) the chequer hen won 1st Club, 2nd Fed from 1,026 birds and 15th Section when there were 7,152 birds competing. The following week she chalked up 4th Club, 9th Fed out of 972 birds and 12th Section when there were 7,024 birds away, when she was beaten by a loftmate that netted 3rd Club, 8th Fed, 11th Section. The outstanding hen came up trumps again out of Oakham (2) the week before this race where she won a brilliant 1st Club, 1st Fed when there were 823 birds competing and 5th Section from a convoy of 6,215 birds. Tommy & Gary's green card potter was a 2y blue hen knocking out a vel of 1485 to net 9th Section, 79th UNC, 80th Open, and she was followed by a yearling chequer hen on 1465. The duo's fourth timer was a 3y blue pied hen making 1461 and she was followed by a 3y blue hen on 1459.1 to round off another very impressive performance. Brian Atkinson & Keith Perkins timed their well-fancied yearling blue hen achieving a vel of 1501.7 to score an impressive 2nd Club, 2nd Fed, 2nd £5 Fed Pools pocketing £40.00, 4th Section,12th UNC and 12th Open. Brian & Keith's blue card potter in netting for the third time this season after potting 4th Club, 9th Fed, 18th Section Worksop and 8th Fed, 1st Fed Nom the previous week out of Oakham (2). Ali McLeod had five yearlings on the clock to pot 4th and 6th Club, 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 20th Fed with the yellow card being awarded to a blue pied hen knocking up a vel of 1481 to go onto chalk up 4th Fed, 3rd £5 Fed Pools banking £20.00, 13th Section and 110th Combine. The yellow card scoring hen that is out of a cock bred by Brian Atkinson & Keith Perkins from “Ollie” their 1st Up North Combine old bird Folkestone (2) Gold Medal winner in 2010 when there were 17,366 birds competing, while the Dam of the yellow card potting hen is out of Mac's number one Koen Minderhoud stock hen, who has already proved herself after breeding Club and Federation winners. The young well-fancied hen is carding for the second race running after potting 3rd Club, 3rd Fed, 19th Section Oakham (2). Ali's second timer was a blue cock on 1476 for 146th UNC, who is of similar lines of his 2015 1st UNC Burbure winner, who was also 10th Fed the previous week. Third on the clock was a previous scoring blue hen doing 1470.6, the Sire of the hen is full Brother to the Sire of Ali's “Gaby Lou” the winner of 1st UNC Burbure in 2015. Two seconds later came another blue hen who is also a Vandenabeele x Minderhoud on 1470.5 who is from one of Mac's good racing cocks that is now at stock after winning many 1st Clubs and winning 1st Teesside Federation twice. Next came a blue cock who knocked up a vel of 1453.

The positions were spread out at Middlesbrough H/S where the loft of Keith Hodge & Denis Potter wins top spot with the duo's red card winning yearling blue pied cock achieving a vel of 1478.6 to chalk up a nice 5th Fed, 16th Section, 122nd UNC. Mrs Singh & Family come into the frame in 2nd position with a 2y red pied cock making 1472.6 to claim 8th Fed, 179th Combine, while Mr & Mrs Stephen & Jeanann Wheatley clocked a 2y blue hen on 1472.5 for 3rd Club, 9th Fed, 180th UNC. The Haverton Hill partnership of Paul Gatley, Graham & Dale Harrod enjoyed a cracking race after timing a 2y blue cock and a couple of yearling blue hens to win an awesome 1st, 2nd and 3rd Club, 12th, 15th and 17th Fed with vels of 1465.8, 1459.7 and 1457.8. Andrew Appleton & Paul Longstaff are in 4th spot with a 3y blue cock doing 1457.7 for 18th Fed.
The birds were at Oakham (3) on Saturday 20th May when the East Cleveland Federations 68 members convoy of 1,623 birds were liberated at 7.50 am flying into a South West wind, which was going to see the winners knock up very high vels. The very much inform Skelton Green partnership of Alan & David Wright recorded their third consecutive win after timing no less than four birds to win a most impressive 1st, 2nd and 6th Club, 1st, 4th, 10th and 18th Fed. With Alan & David's chart-topper being a 2y recording a top vel of 1787, the blue card was awarded to a 3y making 1773.796. The partnership of Bill Chapman, Sons Steve & Colin and the late Tommy Swinburne take 4th Club, 7th Fed with a yearling on 1771 and Bowden Bros, Mick & Boss and loft helper Trevor Mitchell notch up 5th Club, 9th Fed with a 1y on 1763, while Andrew & Jackie Wynn clocked a yearling to pot 13th Fed on 1757.80.
The Lingdale partnership of the late George Skidmore & Grandsons Michael & Liam Jackson timed a couple of their yearling entries to win a very enjoyable 1st and 2nd Club. With their chart-topper that was the first bird timed in the Fed and being two minutes in front out their blue card potter recording a pole position vel of 1778 which was enough to score a very impressive 2nd Fed. The loft of Leather Bros, Albert & Tony chalked up 3rd Club.
W & S Ward timed a yearling to win 1st Club, 3rd Fed at Brotton H/S with a leading vel of 1777, while Reg Wilson, Ray Mole & Partners clocked a 4y and a yearling three seconds apart to lift 2nd and 3rd Club, 11th and 12th Fed on 1758.5 and 1757.87 Mick Smithies in in 4th spot with Mick's yellow card claimer being a yearling making 1744.2 for 19th Fed.
Onto Boosbeck where David Coates and his right hand man Popeye enjoyed a great clocking day after timing no fewer than four of their yearling squad to win a top-notch 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Club. With both the red and blue card winners being clocked nineteen seconds apart to achieve vels of 1752 and 1748 to pocket a very nice 14th and 15th Fed. The duo's green and yellow card potter were timed within one second of each over to end the day in very high spirits. Ian “Knocker” Brown had a couple of yearlings touch down together to notch up the next two positions.
The flags were flying high at the Brotton Six Bird Club after the news hit the streets that the Right Honourable Vic Garbutt, the late Brian “Rusty” Stone & Brian “Mac” McCormick hit the winners' enclosure, with the overjoyed Vic & Mac's pole position winner being a 3y blue w/f cock that won a notable 1st Club, 13th Fed, 86th UNC Reims in 2016 from a convoy of 3,794 birds. The partnership of Andrew & Gavin Doe, John “Dillon” Swales and the late Sandy Sanderson timed a 3y and a 6y to chalk up 2nd and 5th Club, with the lads blue card scorer being a grizzle Silver Shadow Van Loon that was purchased at the Loftus Championship Club Breeder/Buyer. The loft of Bill Ward & Grandson Shaun of the W & S Ward partnership netted 3rd Club with the same 4y blue Staff Van Reet widowhood cock that scored 2nd Club the previous week out of Eastbourne. Kevin & Merv Brown & Sacker Cole had a couple of birds on the clock to lift 4th and 6th Club with the yellow going to a 2y Peter Van Osch x Huybregt, while their second timer was a 3y.
Sayers Bros, Dave, Brian & Kenny recorded their second win on the bounce at Skinningrove from a twelve members entry of 364 birds, with the red card being won by a yearling knocking out a top vel of 1773.794 to go onto score 5th Fed. B & K Simpson timed four of their yearling team to chalk up 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th Club, with Brian & Keith's blue card potter being a natural blue pied Busschaert hen out of Brian's loft making 1747 for 16th Fed. Thirteen seconds later came the green card lifting blue Louis Cooreman cock achieving 1744.3 to take 17th Fed; with the cock that was again out of Brian's natural loft being out of a cock bred by Les Stevens. Brian & Keith's yellow card potter was a blue flipey Louis Cooreman widowhood hen out of the duo's number one stock hen that was a Bob Fenech gift bird. With pole position being won by a 2y red Janssen Van Loon cock bred off Tony's old favourite the “SED Cock” who has produced numerous winners and prize winners for Tony and others over the years. This is the red card winning cock second win of 2017 for he won 1st Club,17th Fed out of Oakham (1) when there were 2,191 birds competing. The yellow card was awarded to a 2016 bred blue De Klak who is also chalking for the second time this term after potting 3rd Club Oakham (2). Geoff Bavin who is enjoying a good run is in 2nd spot with Geoff's blue card scorer being a 2y chequer flipey Rutland Lofts roundabout hen that was 5th Club out of Oakham (1). Jimmy Reed returns to the frame in 5th position, with a 1y Geoff Kirkland grizzle hen.
Chris Cooke hits the winners' enclosure at Staithes after timing two birds to win 1st and 6th Club, with the red card winner being a 4y blue flipey hen that netted 3rd Club Roye in 2015 and 3rd Club, 23rd Fed Eastbourne (1) National in 2016. The winning hen was one of the birds left at the loft when Chris took over in 2013. Second on the clock was a 1y blue Soontjen x Janssen hen. Former Boosbeck flyer Derek “Golly” Foster pots the blue while Dean “Deano” Ward takes 3rd and 4th Club, and Deano was followed by R & D Hood.

The Teesside Federations entry of 671 birds were up and away at 7.30am, and what a season the Haverton Hill partnership of Lewis & McCabe are having after recording their fifth win of the year. With the pole position winner being a well-fancied yearling dark cock who achieved a chart-topping vel of 1732 to go onto win an outstanding 1st Fed, 1st Fed Nom and 4th Section 5 from a convoy of 4,354 birds. Paul Gatley, Graham Harrod & Son Dale timed a couple of yearlings in the space of eleven seconds to pot 2nd and 3rd Club, 14th and 16th Fed on 1696.4 and 1692.
Colin Atkinson & Alby Woodward recorded their second win of the season at Billingham T U with the red card winner being a yearling blue cock knocking out a top vel of 1719 which was enough to score a very impressive 2nd Fed and 20th Section. Tommy Clark & Son Gary enjoyed another one of their good clocking days after timing eight birds to score a cracking 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th Club, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th and 18th Fed. The first channel race of the Up North Combine 2017 race programme took place on Saturday 27th May, when the convoy of 13,268 birds were liberated from Burbure (1) at 5.30am in a South-East wind which was going to give the birds a helping hand. Starting at Marske & New Marske where the loft of the 80 years young Geoff Bavin has hit winning form the past few weeks after winning a brilliant 1st Club, 6th Fed out of Oakham (2) when there were 1,463 birds away and this was followed up a week later by winning 1st and 2nd Club from the Eastbourne (1) National, then his 2nd Club the previous race. This week Geoff timed a yearling blue roundabout hen bred by Clubmate Martin Hogarth to win an outstanding 1st Club, 1st East Cleveland Federation from a 66 members entry of 1,171 birds, 72nd UNC and 82nd Open. The Dam of the well out in front chart-topping hen is the Daughter of Martin's good 2012 bred blue hen who won 4 x 1st Clubs herself, it's also a Granddaughter of Martin's other good blue hen that won 4 x 1st from the channel for Martin but was later lost from Rivenhall two years ago. Geoff a one time Dormanstown member started the season with a roundabout team of twelve pairs, which is enough for him to manage. A couple of weeks previous to the Burbure race, Geoff had told Martin the very small blue hen would win a race, but unknown to Geoff the win would also turn out to be a Federation win. Jimmy Reed filled a couple of cells to lift 2nd and 4th Club with the blue card going to a 10 day sitting 2y blue hen of Jimmy's own bloodlines. The yellow card was awarded to a 2013 bred dark chequer Homer & Williams x own bloodline Busschaert cock. Brown & Hunt nipped one in between Jimmy's two timers to chalk up 3rd Club, with Tony's green card scorer being the same 2y red Janssen Van Loon cock bred off Tony's old favourite the “SED Cock” that won 1st Club the previous week out of Oakham (3). The red cock was well fancied by Tony for this race, so much so he pooled him up to win 1st £5 Fed Pools to bank a very rewarding £110.00.

With top spot being won by a yearling blue hen bred by David Coates & Popeye for the Loftus Championship Club Breeder/Buyer where she won £300.00, the out in front winner achieved a vel of 1771 to score 2nd Fed and 99th UNC. Mike & Lee's second timer was a 2016 bred chequer hen bred from Wayne Doonan stock. Ian Stafford & Sparky Wilson timed a couple of their squad to lift 2nd and 3rd Club with the blue card being awarded to a yearling doing 1752 to net 3rd Fed, 125th UNC. The duo's second timer was a 1y making 1732 for 7th Fed, 173rd Combine, with the green card potter being the previous scorer of 3rd Club Worksop. B & K Simpson are in 4th position with Brian & Keith's yellow card potter being a 3y blue Louis Cooreman natural hen on 1730 for 8th Fed, 181st UNC; with the hen being the previous winner of 1st Club, 16th Fed Oakham and 4th Club, 5th Fed Oakham. The loft of Steve Winspear & Son Ty comes into the frame after clocking a 1y doing 1667 to pocket 14th Fed. While Mr & Mrs Ian & Liz Purver timed a 2y achieving 1625 to pocket 17th Fed; Ian & Liz who has not being in the very best of health of late, and we wish her well, also timed their well-fancied 3y to take 2nd £2 Fed Pools and £43.20.
Don Smith & Daughter tops the Boosbeck charts with Club Secretary Don's well out in front red card winner being a yearling recording a chart-topping vel of 1745 which was enough to score a brilliant 4th Fed and 137th UNC. David Coates and loft helper Popeye timed a 2y and a yearling to pocket 2nd and 3rd Club, with the duo's blue card scorer achieving a vel of 1619 for 18th Fed.
It was a two horse race at Staithes where Andy Crooks wins 1st and 3rd Club, 9th and 15th Fed with vels of 1708 and 1648, with Andy's winner going onto pot 237th Combine. Deano Ward became the second members to clock two yearlings to chalk up 2nd and 4th Club, with the well-fancied blue card potter knocking out a vel of 1690 to score 12th Fed and win 1st £2 Feed Pools and £72.00.

Vic Garbutt, the late Brian “Rusty Stone & Brian “Mac” McCormick clocked a 2y to chalk up 4th Club, then W & S Ward timed a 2y and a yearling to pocket the next two positions.

Bill, Colin & Steve's yellow card potter was a 2y blue hen bred by Riddick & Hall of Horden. Alan & David Wright timed a couple of 2y to lift 2nd and 5th Club with the positions being awarded to a two chequer Busschaert nest Sisters. While the loft of Bowden Bros, Mick & Boss and loft helper Trevor Mitchell had a 3y and a 2y on the clock to notch up 4th and 6th Club, with the yellow going to a dark chequer Busschaert cock that won 1st Club, 1st Fed Roye in 2016 and he was followed by a blue hen.
The loft of Mr & Mrs Golly “Graham” & Linda Peirson & Tubby “Graham” Purver and loft helpers Ian “Evo” Everington & Franky achieved their second win of the day after timing no fewer than three yearlings to win 1st, 3rd and 6th Club at Brotton H/S with the crews red card winner knocking up a vel of 1648 to claim 16th Fed. This was the partnerships second Brotton H/S win of the season after winning 1st Club, 8th Fed Oakham (1) when there were 2,191 birds competing. Reg Wilson, Ray Mole & Partners also had no fewer than three of their squad in the clock to lift 2nd, 4th and 5th Club, with the blue card being netted by a 2y making 1604 to pot 20th Fed. Reg & Ray's yellow card potter was their well-fancied 3y that wins 1st £1 and 3rd £2 Fed Pools pocketing £56.80, the lads timer had already netted 2nd Club, 2nd Fed Worksop out of 2,368 birds and 3rd Club, 9th Fed, 1st £1 and 1st £2 Fed Pools, 110th UNC from the Eastbourne (1) National. The same bird won an outstanding 1st Club, 1st Fed, 2nd Section and 2nd Up North Combine Eastbourne (1) National winning a Combine Silver Medal in 2016 from a convoy of 7,474 birds. The lads third timer was a 2y.
News from the Teesside Federation where we see Ali “Mac” McLeod of Billingham T U returning to the winners' enclosure in fantastic style after timing five of his 21 channel team to win a top-drawer 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th Club, 1st, 4th, 10th, 11th and 19th Fed from an entry of 425 birds. With Mac's pole position winner being a yearling blue hen recording a chart-topping vel of 1888 to go onto win a earth-shattering 1st Section 5 winning £187.71 in prize money and 2nd Up North Combine, winning a Combine Silver Medal and also winning 3 bags of corn kindly donated by Mr & Mrs Andrews. The Silver Medal winning hen is full sister to Ali's 2015 1st UNC Gold Medal Burbure winner “Gaby Lou”, she is also full Sister to Ali's 2016 1st Section NEHU Futurity Race winner and Mac's 1st Fed Bubwith this season. They are grand-children to Ali's number one Koen Minderhoud hen who was the Mother of Ali's loft. This is the third time the UNC have flown Burbure with the first time being in 2015 when Ali won 1st UNC from a convoy of 10,617 birds, then last season Mac won 1st Club, 1st Fed, 1st Section and 6th UNC when there were 9,331 birds competing. Mac's green card scorer was a blue hen doing 1790 to lift 78th UNC and 89th Open, the little hen is a grand child of “King James” who was bird of the year back in 2005 and has been a brilliant stock cock who is also direct from Mac's number one Koen Minderhoud hen. King James” is responsible for numerous winners and he is still filling his eggs today at the age of 13. Third on the clock was a blue hen on 1330.9 for 177th UNC, the hen has all the very best Vandenabeele bloodlines through her. Two seconds later came a third blue hen knocking up a vel of 1730.7 to claim 178th UNC, this hen was well-fancied for this race for she was one of Mac's top pool birds but she just missed out on the money due to some good pooling by the lads and lasses in the Fed. The Sire of the blue hen was one of Ali's good racing cocks who topped the Teesside Federation twice, due to the cocks outstanding racing record and his breeding he was put to stock at 3 years old. Mac's fifth timer was a blue pied hen doing 1678, the hen who topped the Fed out of young bird Peterborough is a Granddaughter of Mac's good pied racing cock “82” who was a Teesside Federation Bird Of The Year winner. Tommy Clark & Son Gary timed a single bird, a 2y chequer pied hen to chalk up a very nice 2nd Club, 3rd Fed, 57th UNC and 62nd Open on 1819. The blue card scoring hen is chalking for the second race running after pocketing 2nd Club 3rd Fed out of Oakham (3). Colin Atkinson & Alby Woodward timed a 1y chequer cock doing 1731 to claim 6th Club, 18th Fed, the cock netted 20th Fed out of Huntingdon (1) when beaten by two loftmates that won an outstanding 1st and 2nd Club, 1st and 6th Fed, 1st and 7th Section from a convoy of 7,024 birds.
Barron Bros, Tommy & Robbie timed one of their five entries to win 1st Club at Haverton Hill, with the duo's red card winner being a well-fancied yearling chequer cock achieving a top vel of 1857 which was enough to score 2nd Fed, 1st £5 Fed Pools banking £60.00, 15th UNC and 16th Open. Paul Gatley, Graham Harrod & Son Dale timed a couple of 1y blue hens to lift 2nd and 6th Club, 5th and 16th Fed, 93rd and 229th UNC with vels of 1775 and 1712. With Paul, Graham & Dale's well-fancied blue card scorer winning the Fed Nom and also taking 2nd £5 Pools to net £40.00. The partnership of Andrew Appleton & Paul Longstaff clocked three yearlings, a blue cock and two chequer cocks to pocket 3rd and 5th Club, 6th, 15th and 20th Fed with vels of 1772, 1721 and 1669. With Andrew & Paul's green card claimer going onto net 97th UNC and their second timer picking up 211th Combine. Smith & Son return to the frame in 4th Spot with the partnerships yellow card scorer being a 2016 bred blue hen making 1758 to chalk up a notable 7th Fed, 116th UNC. The lads netted early in the season when they took 3rd Club, 20th Fed Bubwith; and followed that up a week later by lifting 15th Fed Worksop.

McCarthy, Son & Profitt are never far away when it comes to the channel races and they are amongst them again this week, after timing a couple of birds in the space of nineteen seconds to score 2nd and 3rd Club. With their blue card potter being a 2y chequer hen doing 1725 to net 13th Fed, 194th UNC; while the lads green card claimer was a 3y chequer pied cock making 1723 for 14th Fed and 201st Combine.
