I visited the newly built outlet at the Farm Direct Country Store at Easington which is situated between Loftus and Staithes; I was very impressed with the new set up. Farm Direct is a family run business, supplying many products that they grow themselves on their farms in Easington and Loftus. The owners pride themselves on providing great products at very competitive prices; they have specials every month which are advertised on Facebook and on their notice board outside the shop which is located on the main A174 between Middlesbrough and Whitby in the village of Easington and are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 in the morning till 5:30pm in the evening, on Sundays and bank Holidays they are open 10:00am till 4:00pm. Farm Direct sell everything for your pets, your plate, your Horse and your farm, for instance for pets they not only sell Dog & Cat food, but they also sell wild bird seeds, poultry feeds as well Pigeon corns with mixes from L E South and their new main feeds from Ronny Van Tilburg, with their most popular mix being VTD 22 Breeding & Racing. The two very hard working lads also stock Barley, Wheat, Beans and Peas, which more often than not carry a special offer, Grits, Minerals, Shavings etc are also stocked. I have been told of Pigeon fanciers as far as Whitby and Middlesbrough calling if for their feeds, bits and bobs. They also sell pet accessories from Rabbit hutches and Dog beds to leads and medicines, for the very keen gardeners composts, seeds, grow-bags, fertile, bedding plants, baskets and plant feeds can be purchased. There are plenty of vegetables on sale, fresh from the grower, potatoes, cabbages, leeks, cauliflowers, turnips, carrots and much more seasonal produce. The Dale family are very passionate about what they sell and the service they provide because they grow a lot of it themselves. The family will be recruiting for seasonal staff in the tea rooms over the next few months. These will not be permenant positions but will cover from roughly June through to September over the summer months. I’m sure anyone visiting the Store will not be disappointed, as the lads have raked in a lot of new customers since they opened their new outlet.
