YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS
WITH SUE.
The last race of the season was from Billericay on the 23RD September and the birds were liberated in a South South East wind sending them straight past, some were luckier than others and managed to get them out of the batches one of them Topping the Combine and the Central Section is Kevin Green of Hull on 1880. Topping the South Section is Nathan Hoggard Stuart Linley & Tony Ellis of Bridlington on 1852. Topping the West Section is B. Ford & Sons Gary & Wayne. Topping the North Section is Alan Richardson of Whitby on 1725 Well done to Kevin and everyone on the result.
It was a sad day for John & Les Hill of Hunmanby as they have now decided that this was their last race due to them feeling it was getting too much, John being 85 and Les being 78 with them both having had pigeons most of their lives. They started off in the Filey club but moved to Hunmanby were the Hunmanby club was formed which they have been in for about 58 years. The club is now giving up due to a decline in members and Angela Clubley the Secretary has now decided to call it a day having run the club for 30 years Angela said when the club started subs were 21 shilling and birdage 2/6p. A picture of John Hill with his old and young bird loft as John and Les were only small team flyers and on the natural system for years there was not many could touch them in the club. Well John and Les you will be missed.
