Held their prize presentation at the Plough Inn with an excellent turn out of members and friends who all enjoyed a very good evening. Alec Dodson the Secretary thanked the members for their assistance particularly transporting the clubs birds to the transporter in Hull.

Alec then went on to introduce the chief guest of honour Tony Meek who although he is from Mansfield he is almost a Yorkshire man now, and Tony’s background was and Ex Jockey, Farmer, Dogman, Livestock remover, Convoyer and finally racing pigeons both North & South.

Now onto the presentation starting in reverse order the winners were, Dean Adamson who scored mainly inland and did not fly the full programme. Next was Trevor Robinson won from Battle which he often does when preparing his candidates for the Marathons from Barcelona & Tarbes. Next New Member G. Atkinson flying Old Birds only and had a 3rd Battle, 4th Peterborough. 4th Bourges incidentally the Bourges pigeon is an 8yr Old Dutch pigeon with a proven record of also scoring on the North Road from Lerwick & Thurso and a 4th Bourges. Next place went to Alec & Margaret Dodson winning from Sleaford and a 4th Bourges also won the Bourges Trophy, and has had a 3rd and 4th Arras also having several cards inland. Their very good Bourges pigeon has carded 7 times over the channel. Second highest prize winner was Peter Davenport who races well to a small loft and won 1st Maidstone, 1st Peterborough and other cards Inland he also was 2nd Bourges with one of his two entries and also won a trophy. Peter has a good landmark for his birds the Withernsea Lighthouse at the top of his street!!  Top Prize winner was Dave Beadle by a large margin taking 20 Trophies the main ones being 1st Bourges Dosdale Trophy, 1st Clermont Ferrington Trophy, 1st Continental Arras, Channel Shield 2nd Arras. Cross Bros Cup Channel Average. Combined Average Shield. Hart Cup Longest Young Bird, Fewster Cup Best Average 3 longest old bird and 3 longest young birds. With a total of 13 old bird races and 8 young bird races and many other prizes. The Bourges winner topped the combine and he also had 2nd Clermont, 2nd and 4th Arras an excellent season. The night finished with an excellent Buffet and Raffle with the Host Sue being presented with flowers and also the guest’s wife who unfortunately could not attend.
